I’ve never had to write a review before but from what I witnessed today something at this store seriously needs to be addressed. I was shopping with my 5-year-old and was shocked by how rude and unprofessional one of the front-end employees with red hair was. She had her headphones in, ignored people, and acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience—as if she didn’t want to be at work at all. When she finally did help, her attitude was nasty and dismissive. Afterward, she had an older woman following her around, and together they were openly talking badly about other coworkers in front of customers. As a parent, this is not the kind of environment I want my child exposed to. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will seriously reconsider shopping here again. Do better.

I am writing to formally complain about an incident involving a Safeway manager and my 13-year-old son during a visit to your store a month ago. My son was sent into the store with money I gave him to purchase candy. While he was doing so, he was confronted by a female manager with red dyed hair who aggressively accused him of attempting to steal alcohol. This accusation was completely false. My son was not handling, attempting to purchase, or involved with alcohol in any way. The manager’s tone and body language were hostile and intimidating, and my son was effectively harassed and embarrassed in public. He is a minor, and being falsely accused of theft—particularly of alcohol—was extremely upsetting for him. As his father, I find this behavior unacceptable and deeply concerning. There was no justification for this accusation, and the manner in which it was handled demonstrated a lack of professionalism, judgment, and sensitivity toward a child. Managers should be trained to handle situations involving minors carefully and respectfully. This interaction fell far below that expectation. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed seriously and that appropriate action be taken to ensure that no other child or family experiences this kind of treatment in your store. I would appreciate that the next time we shop at this Safeway the behaviors are resolved.

While I was shopping with my children, a female manager with red hair approached us and spoke in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. She raised her voice and used a harsh tone, and her body language was intimidating. Her behavior was inappropriate, especially in front of my children, and it made the situation uncomfortable and upsetting for us. At no point did we behave in a way that warranted being spoken to rudely or aggressively. I expect managers, in particular, to model professionalism, patience, and respectful communication with customers. Unfortunately, this interaction fell well below that standard. I am disappointed by this experience and hope Safeway will address this matter to ensure other customers, especially families, are treated with courtesy and respect in the future.
