This Safeway has really made a 180 with friendly staff and I always feel I can find what I need with fully stocked shelves. It still feels a little sketchy at times, but that’s become a very rare occasion.

On Christmas morning, these employees were outstanding, Ernie as always, John on the pharmacy register very uplifting and happy and Julia in security went above and beyond to assist me with a return as doors opened at 8 am. Wonderful staff members. For the past couple years I had great service here and I had recently gave bad review due to produce and meat dept. Produce was old and rotten and I bought 4 of the 1 lb London broils and they were a bunch of thinly sliced steaks that were tough as nails and they should be told to stop this if they know anything about meat. A London broil is to be cut on the angle for it to be tender and that requires the thickness!!!! The 3 people above should be trainers for all the rest of the staff and you should only display meat and produce that you would want to take home ! Loved the review below mine 💕 sounds about right lol Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 😊

Shopping here sucks because every cart has its wheels locked and none of the 3 emoyees I asked could unlock them. I'm ready to give up on this location just bc of the screwy carts and unhelpful employees. I accidentally knocked over an aisle display bc I was pushing the cart to get it to go from its stuck position. Oh well, the unhelpful employees can clean up that mess.

This situation happened last July of 2025, but I still feel like it has to be addressed and shared. I preordered the deli's largest fried chicken deal a week in advance for a party. The person I spoke with on the phone did not seem like they were genuinely taking my info for the order but against my better judgment I trusted that they had put the order in. I stated that I would pick it up at noon as the party started a 1pm. One day before the event I spoke to someone in the deli to confirm the order. The person had an accent and didn't quite understand why I was calling and proceeded to take the info as a new order. Come noon the day of the party, I went to the deli at the 757 E 20th location in Denver. My order had not been prepared! The person on duty had to prepare it while I waited. I was paying for the food and guests where already at my house 20 minutes away. The on-duty manager (short hair lady) said they would discount my order. When paying they deducted $5 off the order. This felt like an insult, $5 off $60+ tax. Respectfully, I asked the manager if she could do better for the inconvenience and for making me late with the food for my daughter's party. She got noticeably annoyed with me and stated firmly in a raised voice " That is all I will do for you sir now bye" Needless to say I was frustrated. I mean, after all I help pay this persons bills with my patronage. Safeway, do better at this location.
