We went there the day before Christmas Eve, and I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant in my life. Especially one that I have loved over the years. The service overall was poor. We had reservations, and still waited at least 15 minutes before ANYONE showed up to talk to us. Once seated, we waited at least another 15 - 20 minutes for a waitress. Then it was another 15 - 20 minutes for drinks. Getting food took one and a half hours from the time we got drinks. ONE AND A HALF HOURS. I could understand this if it had been busy, but it wasn't. Half of the tables were empty. And the food was TERRIBLE. Not the normal Rio food. Our waitress told us it was because the owners wanted a 'more upscale menu'. Well that was a BIG FAILURE. I will never darken the doors of the Rio at Wazee again. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. NOTE TO OWNERS: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Restaurant Rio welcomed us without hesitation. The manager, Chris, cleared out the back and made sure we were comfortably accommodated, and Maddie and Jessica took amazing care of us all night. Truly a power crew—can’t thank them enough!
