I went in around 1:30 p.m. on February 12th. There was a guy working the self-checkouts that I had not recognized from before (I've been coming here almost every single day for the last 5 years) who had a shaved head with the exception of a mohawk on top, he was kind of tall and wearing sunglasses. And as I was getting done and leaving the store after using the self-checkout, this guy was being 100% passive-aggressive with me. As I was already almost out the door he yelled "DO YOU WANT YOUR RECEIPT!?" And I said no I'm good!
And in a tone that was definitely pretty aggressive he goes "OH OKAY I'LL JUST THROW IT AWAY FOR YOU THEN".
If this guy is going to continue working at this location and I'm going to be treated like this, this store can lose my business and I will gladly go anywhere else in Boulder. Seems like a lot of the management here has an attitude problem with their employees and their customers alike. Great business model Safeway.
Also, I will be absolutely sure that anytime I see this guy working now, I will always leave my receipt for him to passive-aggressively throw away.

To Whom It May Concern (Safeway Management / Administration / Customer Service):
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the treatment I received from an employee identified as Daniel, who was working on Sunday, January 25th, at 11:45 a.m. at register number 3 in the Safeway supermarket.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. On multiple occasions, I have observed this individual displaying a complete lack of concern for customers, including elderly people, young people, and anyone requiring even minimal assistance during the shopping process. Personally, on at least three occasions, I have requested assistance from him regarding products or the payment process, and his response has always been cold, evasive, and unhelpful.
On one specific occasion, I accidentally scanned an item twice, and the employee refused to correct the situation, forcing me to seek assistance from another store employee, who resolved the problem without any difficulty. Daniel's attitude was uncomfortable, distant, and unprofessional, creating an unpleasant experience for me as a customer.
The repeated nature of this employee's behavior, along with his body language, facial expressions, and selective treatment of customers, is concerning and perceived as discriminatory, which is inconsistent with the values of service, respect, and inclusion expected of a company like Safeway.
I believe that individuals who are unwilling to treat customers with dignity and respect should not be in customer-facing positions, especially in an environment that serves diverse communities.
I would appreciate it if this situation were reviewed seriously by the appropriate management and that the necessary steps are taken to prevent these types of experiences from recurring.

Great location, plenty of parking. Pharmacy inside, as well as a Starbucks. 4 out of 5 stars because the fruit, such as strawberries, is often moldy inside the packaging. Helpful staff.
