We don’t take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it—and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week.
Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That’s why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.
Customers frequently praised the freshness and flavor of the seafood, particularly the oysters, mussels, and calamari.

Pricing Concerns

Came for happy hour this weekend and had a great experience. Fresh tasty seafood in colorado is far and few between. You'll certainly pay a premium for it, but its a nice treat for this east coast native.

Great evening at Jax! Enjoyed the Monday-all-day-Happy-Hour specials: great Old Fashioned, good deal on the peel-and-eat shrimp, PEI mussels, calamari, and chopped salad. We’ll be back, for sure!

These 5 star reviews must be indicative of the dearth of good restaurants in Boulder -- people must no longer know what great well prepared food should taste like. I gave this place a try a couple weeks ago after a year of staying away after another disappointing meal. I had the fried catfish based upon the recommendation of my waitress. Bland sauce, dry grits compressed into hardened squares and soggy greens. I never regret spending good money in expensive places when the food lives up to the menu descriptions -- but this place is a rip off. Unfortunately Jax is just another corporately owned pretend dive bar masquerading as an upscale restaurant.

Amazing food as always. Our server Gray provided great service and knew the food and drinks really well. Oysters, Mussels, and Black Cod and Scallop mains were outstanding.
