About

Steak HousePenn National Gaming
Timberline Grill pays homage to the best Colorado craftsmanship. And its cuisine is equally impeccable. When you're savoring one of our signature dishes, such as the Seafood Puttanesca or Alaska King Crab Legs, in front of a roaring fire, it's easy to imagine that you're high up in the Rockies, experiencing the deep peace that can only be found in an isolated cabin. One that serves a decadent set of deserts, that is.

I will have dinner again there yes. I recommend order the Jeff recommend on the menu. I had the lamb and it was fine a little overcooked but it was fine.

Our server Jessica is the only reason that I'm not leaving a one star review. Her effort and attentiveness were exemplary. My wife and I had a reservation for six fifteen on President's Day weekend. We showed up at six ten and checked in with an extremely frazzled maître d, who nonetheless was polite and worked to get us a table by six twenty. I asked about seating at the bar, and was informed that as the restaurant manager was filling all of the drink orders due to the lack of a bartender, there was no bar seating available. Our server came to take our drink order, and my wife placed hers. I was still looking at the wine list, so I said that I would order when she returned. It took fifteen minutes for my wife to get the snifter of bourbon that was most definitely not the double neat that she had ordered, and another fifteen minutes for me to get a glass of wine. Our server was certainly not idle during this time, she was racing about the floor tending to other customers and bussing tables. (Keep in mind that this is a high end steakhouse that would normally have table bussers.) She returned another fifteen minutes after I received my drink and we placed our order for appetizers, which came out about ten minutes later. The shrimp cocktail sauce was delicious, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. She returned to take our dinner order shortly after we had finished, and then did not stop by until a half an hour had passed to inform us that the kitchen had lost our order. She apologized and said that she would comp the entrée. When it came out a short while later (we split a steak and they had thoughtfully provided two plates with garnishes), it was absolutely incredible. After finishing dinner, we placed a dessert order to go and then waited to pay. We tipped her very well because we could see that she had done her absolute best to take care of us, in spite of whatever problems the restaurant was having. Long story short, the food was delicious, the kitchen forgot about our entrée, and we ended up spending two hours at dinner. The only reason that I can think of for the inadequate service would be staffing problems on short notice. The reasons for this are less important than the effects on our, and others, experience. My wife maintains that every place deserves a second chance, but at these prices (and again, the food was excellent) I am reluctant to try them again.

The Timberline at the Ameristar is the perfect place for dinner while you travel to and from the mountains. Kelly at the Ameristar advised us to try this Restaurant and we are happy we did. Jessica was our most excellent server. We had the prime rib and next time we will be more adventurous. Thank you!

I had a great experience at Timberline Steakhouse inside Ameristar Black Hawk more than once, and it’s easily become one of my favorite place to eat when I’m in town. I love the New York strip with chimichurri - absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy. You can really tell they take pride in both the food and the overall dining experience. If you’re looking for a top tier steakhouse in Black Hawk, I highly recommend Timberline Steakhouse. I can’t wait to visit again the next time I’m in Black Hawk.

We usually have a great time. They got rid of the charcuterie board which we love. There were also mice running around when we went and the servers didnt care. Disgusting!! Especially with the price
