Timberline Grill pays homage to the best Colorado craftsmanship. And its cuisine is equally impeccable. When you're savoring one of our signature dishes, such as the Seafood Puttanesca or Alaska King Crab Legs, in front of a roaring fire, it's easy to imagine that you're high up in the Rockies, experiencing the deep peace that can only be found in an isolated cabin. One that serves a decadent set of deserts, that is.
Numerous reviews highlighted poor service, including long wait times, inattentive staff, and unprofessional behavior from servers.

Poor service, inconsistent food, and gratuity handled unprofessionally
Dined at Timberline Grill (Ameristar) with a party of 7. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived, which made the experience even more disappointing.
We understand the 20% auto-gratuity for parties of 6+ is listed on the menu — the policy isn’t the issue. The issue was the level of service and food quality, and then being pressured about gratuity despite the problems.
Service issues:
• One order was not entered at all. When it was finally brought out, it arrived right as we were ready to leave, and the steak was cooked incorrectly (ordered medium, came back rare/undercooked).
• Fries were missing and arrived much later (they were hot when they finally came, but the guest was already leaving and couldn’t even eat them).
• Our server, Jessica, didn’t check on the table, and interactions felt dismissive, like we were the problem for asking about missing items.
• The most frustrating part: when the check was brought, Jessica dropped it down and said, “There’s also a guaranteed 20% gratuity included,” then walked away. It came across as abrupt and unprofessional.
Food issues:
• Several items came out cold.
• The Caesar salad was overly heavy/“done” and had an excessive spicy seasoning that threw it off.
• The tuna was extremely oily, especially with the rice.
We raised concerns because the experience didn’t justify an automatic 20%. The manager initially insisted it was 20% “no matter what,” but did ultimately adjust it. Even so, the way it was handled felt pressuring rather than guest-focused.
Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return or recommend this place, especially for groups.
atmosphere is beautiful. The only reason why I gave him one star

Out of prime rib before 8. Wasn’t busy. Ordered medium rare ny strip and got a medium well triangle chunk of tough meat. Server, Juan, didn’t care.

Had the Wagu Manhattan filet. It was not very tender. I have had regular choice filets that were more tender and flavorfull.

All Tops. While at a night🌃 over at blackhawk colorado we wanted seafood🍤. Looked at the surrounding casino buffets & We found this seafood extravaganza. Best ever. Fresh feast. And great French Onion Soup and breads too. Between the two of us it was over abundance. We had a few blue cheese martinis🍸 and Manhattans🥃 too... and Wow!🤠
