  I usually reserve a 5 star rating for only the very best. This is very good, probably not quite a 5, but considering it’s the only quality dining we’ve found anywhere in Blackhawk, it’s getting a 5 star. I can only speak to the “Chef’s special” since 3 of us all got the same thing. Great food for a good value! All meals start with a generous portion of bread variety and whipped butter. The salad with house was super, the vinaigrette was great! We all got the 8oz fillet, cooked perfectly and very tender. We ordered extra sides of mac and cheese and au gratin potatoes. Both sides were large enough to share for 3 and very good. Finished with the fruit sorbet, also very good. All included for $65/person, can’t beat it. Service was also fantastic, made sure our water was never empty, checked back multiple times to verify we were satisfied. To top it off everybody gets a mini banana bread to go at the end. Just a fantastic experience. Our new go-to in Blackhawk.

  My husband and I recently dined here and we loved it! Our waiter, Shawn, was amazing. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared. Highly recommend!

  Updated Review, Oct. 29th: Thanks to Keith and Eric, we decided to give the Monarch Chophouse a second chance. They did not disappoint. Eric was an attentive and professional waiter who ensured our food came out in a timely manner and was cooked to perfection. Keith personally reached out, took the time to listen, and made sure my previous concerns were heard and validated. Their excellent service completely changed my impression of the restaurant. I truly appreciate the effort they put into making things right. I highly recommend giving the Monarch Chophouse a visit. The food, atmosphere, and customer care are top-notch when professionals like Keith and Eric are involved. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. I have a pork allergy, which I clearly informed the server of at the beginning of our visit. Despite that, my salad was served with bacon bits. Our party of six placed our order at 8:20 p.m., and the food did not arrive until 9:45 p.m. Two guests ordered the same entrée, yet no one confirmed who ordered which dish, resulting in us receiving the wrong steaks. When I asked to speak with a manager, Leslie came to our table, said she would look into the issue, and never returned. Her response lacked professionalism, she was not apologetic and simply said, “Thanks for your feedback.” Our server did try to apologize at the end of the evening, explaining that the situation was out of his hands, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of attention to food allergies, poor service, and unprofessional management are unacceptable. I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

  Jack and Eric are the best professional servers and gentleman! Food is great and will certainly be back because of those guys!
