I checked out and the total was approximately $89. The card was declined as usual at Safeway. I said to the cashier that couldn't be right. She was less than polite or respectful, she was more condescending. She said " I don't know what to tell you" a second cashier came over after we checked the balance again. I thought she was going to be more helpful, but she was sparky and said take it up with your food stamp office. I know there is a lot of controversy over ebt/food stamps but my son is disabled and doesn't deserve the treatment that the cashiers who work there now dole out. The cashiers that have been around awhile are always accommodating, polite, and respectful. I'm beginning to think this may be why Safeway is closing stores, due to poor customer service.
