  Save your money and your evening. Go literally anywhere else in Lucerne. Refused the lakeside table we came for. Treated like beggars for not “declaring” three entrees upfront. The rudest welcome I’ve had at any restaurant, anywhere. Here’s the part that makes it laughable: we walked in ready to spend — alcohol, an appetizer, dessert, entrees, the whole tab. They had no idea. But instead of seating a paying guest, they sized us up by counting entrees and waved us off to some sad corner table, away from the view that’s the entire reason anyone comes here. The attitude was cold, dismissive, and dripping with the sense that seating us was a massive imposition. I’ve had warmer treatment renewing a passport. For these prices, in a spot this beautiful, the service was a disgrace. Lucerne is full of restaurants that will actually be glad to take your money. This is not one of them. Walk right past it.

  The owner/manager was very warm, kind, and humble. Even though we were a group of 12, he welcomed us warmly withy smiley face. The food was excellent. The pizza was outstanding, and I ordered the Penne Aurora, which was rich, creamy, and delicious. It was one of the best pasta dishes I have had in Lucerne. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for its hospitality and excellent food. Last but not least service was also great and foods was coming out very quick. If you are in the area must try this place.

  Leider waren das die schlechtesten Penne all’Arrabbiata, die ich je gegessen habe. Die Pasta war regelrecht in Öl gebadet, anstatt in einer aromatischen, leicht cremigen Tomatensauce. Geschmacklich hat das Gericht deshalb leider enttäuscht. Das Personal war zwar freundlich, wirkte jedoch nicht besonders aufmerksam. Zunächst wollte man uns einen Platz im Innenbereich anbieten, obwohl draussen an bester Lage noch mehrere Tische frei waren. Das Highlight des Restaurants ist definitiv die wunderschöne Aussicht auf die Kapellbrücke. Schade, dass das Essen mit der tollen Lage nicht mithalten konnte.

  I recently visited this restaurant in Lucerne on July 8 with my family, including our two young children. When we arrived, we asked the staff if we could have a table outside. We were told that if one became available, we could have it. We waited patiently near the entrance for several minutes while a family finished their meal and prepared to leave. As soon as the table became vacant, another family arrived and asked if it was available. The staff immediately gave the table to them, even though we had been waiting first. We asked why the table had not been offered to us, especially since it was not reserved. The staff responded that it was "up to them" who they wanted to give the table to. I have traveled extensively and have never experienced treatment like this before. Based on what happened, I was left feeling that we were treated differently because of our race. It was deeply disappointing, and what made it even more upsetting was that my two children witnessed what felt like their first experience with racism. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all guests are treated fairly

  Our family had an outstanding dinner at Da Ernesto during our visit to Lucerne. We were fortunate to have an outdoor table by the water, just steps from Chapel Bridge, and the setting alone made for a memorable evening. We started with the bruschetta, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, I had the cannelloni, my wife and son each enjoyed a pizza, and my daughter ordered the ravioli with butter and sage sauce. Every dish was exceptional. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, everything was perfectly prepared, and each meal was absolutely delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling rushed. Combined with the beautiful waterfront atmosphere, it was one of our favorite dining experiences of our trip. We completely fell in love with Lucerne, and Da Ernesto was a big part of that experience. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in a spectacular location with excellent service, this restaurant is an easy five star recommendation. We would gladly return.
