  I visited this restaurant for lunch with my husband, and unfortunately, the experience left us feeling very disappointed. My husband and I are Asian, and while placing our order, my husband politely said, “Can I have this one, please?” while pointing to the menu to avoid any misunderstanding. Despite this, the female staff member taking our order responded in a loud and unfriendly tone, asking, “Can’t you speak English?” We understand that language barriers can happen, but the way the question was delivered made us feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. After ordering, we asked another staff member if we could move to a different table and were told that it was fine. We then relocated. Later, food was delivered to our original table, and we assumed there had been a misunderstanding. Shortly afterward, the same staff member approached us and loudly questioned whether we had ordered the item. Her tone felt confrontational and drew the attention of nearby customers, which was quite upsetting. To avoid any further issue, I calmly told her that I was happy to accept the order. She replied with “sorry,” but her tone and body language did not feel welcoming. I understand that service styles and cultural differences vary from place to place, and perhaps there was a misunderstanding somewhere along the way. However, the overall interaction made us feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, and embarrassed. The food itself was satisfactory, but unfortunately the service overshadowed the entire experience. I hope this feedback will be taken constructively so that future guests can enjoy a more respectful and professional experience.

  Really smoky outside, lots of cigarette smokers. Inside was typical Irish Pub atmosphere without the charm. Had beers and some nachos. Beer selection was good, nachos mediocre at best. Fish and chips looked good. Prices where good for the location on the river. No view from inside. Service was adequate, but not very friendly or warm.

  Even though it was self-service, the staff were lovely and very welcoming. The food was excellent, especially the fish and chips. There was also a great variety of beers and ciders to choose from. I’d definitely recommend this place and would happily come back.

  Just stopped in for a beer. Great ambiance but the servers seem touristed out; barely hospital. I had my feet across a stool to give my legs a rest and the manager came and asked me to remove them! The bar was not crowded. You have to go to the bar to order and pay. Spoiled by demand.

  Not a bad spot to take some drinks with good views of the Chapel Bridge and the city centre but the attitude from the bar staff is totally zero. The other servers that are taking care of the terrace are super nice and polite. But when we tried to order inside at the bar the lady that took our petition was totally rude. She thinks that you as I guess should know the complete menu and you cannot ask or she gets mad. Instead of being intelligent, trying to go for an upsell or proposing something else she will tell you rudely if you ask for something out of the main card or you have doubts, that “what I have is what I have if not, I will not offered you anything” while looking at you like you are not mentally capable. In normal conditions, I will give three stars to this type of venue as the food is not but at all (overpriced but is normal because the location is good), but the treatment received by this lady was less than the minimum.
