To Whom It May Concern, Today was our first time dining at the hotel restaurant Coins & Candor, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, especially since we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. From the host to our servers, the service was unwelcoming. Our server, Eddie, appeared uninterested in serving us and displayed an unprofessional attitude throughout the meal. After speaking with Manager Diego, Eddie returned to our table in a disrespectful manner. He grabbed our cocktail cup abruptly, without asking if we had finished our drink, swung his hand in front of our faces, and walked away without making eye contact. His behavior was rude and completely inappropriate. We waited 15–20 minutes just to receive a single cocktail, which set a negative tone for the rest of the experience. We placed two orders: 1. Lobster pasta price approximately. $45 2. Wagyu rib-eye steak price approximately $75 Both dishes were incorrect. The steak served looked like a tri-tip rather than the Wagyu rib-eye we requested, and the pasta was not the lobster pasta we ordered. Manager Diego personally confirmed that both dishes were wrong. Throughout the meal, Eddie, who was assigned to our table, never checked on us after taking the order. He did not ensure our satisfaction, and no one came to ask how we were doing or address the incorrect dishes. To make matters worse, another server came later with an attitude. When we inquired about the complimentary bread and butter, she insisted that it was not complimentary and that it cost $14. This response was unprofessional and surprising, as it added to the negative experience. Four Seasons Hotel is a five-star property with a world-renowned reputation. Experiences like these, especially Eddie’s attitude and the behavior of the host, have the potential to harm the brand and drive customers away. Although the experience at Coins & Candor was extremely disappointing, we want to acknowledge that Manager Diego was understanding, apologized, and assisted us by transferring our reservation to another restaurant named Onyx. At the new location, Onyx ,our service was excellent. Jose, our server, was friendly, attentive, professional, and made the remainder of our evening enjoyable. We hope this feedback will help improve service standards at Coins & Candor. We were very disappointed with the attitude and handling of our dining experience and would appreciate appropriate follow-up from senior management. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Ann. Q

Food is more seasoned than before. The new menu is more French and less California. We liked the old dinner menu from our previous stay in January. Breakfast is solid but the food came out lukewarm on our last day of our stay.

Coin & Candor at the Four Seasons Westlake Village is exceptional in every way. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between relaxed California comfort and elevated dining. The service is warm, polished, and attentive without ever feeling overdone — exactly what you’d expect from a Four Seasons restaurant. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care behind the execution. From the first cocktail to dessert, everything felt consistent and intentional. Big shout out to the staff.

Coin & Candor is such a gem in Westlake. The Four Season's property is beautiful and this restaurant is a great extension of that. Our server Kendall was so kind and so accommodating - her service alone was enough reason to return. But thankfully the food matched the service. Off menu is the most delicious gluten free bread. Every appetizer, entree and dessert we had was perfectly prepared.

We came to the Four Seasons as a group of seven and were seated in a beautiful private space that felt very elegant. At first, it seemed like we were in for top-notch service. Unfortunately, things fell short. Our drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive, and when we asked our meals to be coursed out, everything ended up coming all at once. This made it had to enjoy the appetizers as intended and left us feeling full too quickly. After we finished some dishes, no one came by to clear the table or check in on us for quite a while. The service overall felt inconsistent. We later learned our servers were trainees, which would have been helpful to now upfront. The one standout was Mario, who checked in on us while refilling our waters, and cleared the dishes we put aside on a credenza table. His attentiveness made a big difference in the experience. Management needs to make sure people know they are being served by someone in training. That said, the food itself was delicious. The bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection, the oysters were fresh and delicious, the sourdough was soft and warm, and the cocktails were on point (minus the long wait). I want to give this place another chance but I will be requesting a server with experience.
