I was really excited about trying this restaurant. I tried to make a reservation online, I tried calling multiple times when they were open and left messages, I even sent an email requesting a reservation. When someone finally called me back I happily made a reservation for 4pm on a Friday. We live about 45 minutes away, and when we arrived I see that they had texted me 10 minutes ago letting us know that they close at 3pm, and the reservation was an accident. It would have been nice to get more of a heads up so we could plan accordingly instead of showing up to a closed restaurant.
I think the restaurant needs work with their reservation system and communication between staff. Informing a customer that their reservation is cancelled 10 minutes before isn't a sign of great service. Luckily there are other options in Visalia.

This evening I visited Bellis for dinner. We were immediately greeted by Misha and he made sure we were seated comfortably near the window with lovely flowers. Kadee was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. She was happy to answer any questions we had about the food.
I am not vegan, but I love to eat locally sourced, organic vegetables and don’t need meat to make the meal. I had experienced the chef’s work at a wedding a couple years back and I knew based on that experience that I would love the food.
I started with a nice refreshing plum kvass. I had never tasted kvass, but I really enjoyed it. I felt like I was eating a fresh plum. I had the potato gnocchi for my entree and it was incredible. I particularly enjoyed the purée and the veggies that accompanied the potato gnocchi. I found myself wanting to lick my plate afterward, but I used restraint. I think my favorite flavors that I enjoyed this evening came from the pumpkin mousse. The pumpkin, toasted seeds with gram crust, and the mascarpone was the perfect way to end the evening.
I am really happy to see more options for fine dining here in downtown Visalia. I am also going to have to pick up a vegan pizza for lunch some time soon. They have some really good luck specials.
