The main reason why we didn’t notice it is because the cakes were behind the counter, so we thought that they were fresh. It is very unfortunate because when I called to let Safeway Associates know all they keep saying that they were going to close at 5pm. I get it knowing it’s Christmas Day but at least make me believe you are going to take care of the issue so another customer is not Disappointed like we were.

This morning, 12/18/25, I was purchasing 2 1/2 dozen donuts in the bakery (I was the only customer in the bakery at at 6:50 am), and was struggling to keep the flimsy lids closed. Violet, the woman working in the bakery, acted like I was bothering her to get assistance in getting the tabs to stay closed. I asked if she had tape. Nope. Reluctantly, she assisted in getting the three boxes to stay closed. Her demeanor was very rude and unprofessional, and very unfriendly. It’s the holidays and she’s a customer service representative. Either she was having a bad day or is in the wrong profession. Safeway, please provide training to Violet to improve customer service!

Always in a bad mood always in a rush, always short and rude not just to myself, but I’ve witnessed them act like this to others. We started going to Rayles across town because of this.
