We were visiting Lake Tahoe from Kansas and had to make the stop - boy are we glad we did. The atmosphere was amazing like going back in time in a time capsule. The service matched the atmosphere with constant check in, coffee fill up and whatever we needed. The food is what set the experience over the top - I ordered the corned beef hash and was not let down - this paired well with coffee. My wife ordered pancakes and hashbrowns and each were cooked perfectly - hash browns are usually hard to get right and Jax on the tracks did not disappoint - perfectly crispy! We will definitely be back our next time we're close!

Lobster & Shrimp Mac and cheese was bland and tasted more like the ocean than cheese. Cajun shrimp pasta was delicious. Great flavor. Kitchen forgot to put sauce on kids pizza so that was different. Milkshakes were fine but nothing special, onion rings were really good and the seasoned ketchup was fun. Slider sampler was ok...beef burger dry, crab cake was messy, pork was really good. Thought the buns were a bit dry. Overall, id skip dinner all together. Perhaps lunch and breakfast is better?
