They need to getwith it already there seems to be some discrepancy between store level, corporate management, and whoever is throwing off this Safeway, unfortunately they haven't trained their management on California civil code 1749.5, requires store to return cash to the gift card holder for any gift card balance $9.99 and under, and april 1 2026, that amount will increase to $14.99 . This law is at least 1 year old maybe two. Now I understand that a lot of people go steal from there but that shouldn't be the excuse for lack of training mgmt... at least in my opinion... when I called customer service the lady actually had a rooster cocktail a doodle doing in the bg and sounded like she had water in the phone... she was very polite but without any request for compensation and informing the company of legal liabilities which could have amount to 100 s of Thousands of dollars in legal penalties and class action lawsuits The polite young lady strictly offered me 3 measley dollars applied to the membership account phone number , not only can't buy anything healthy for 3 dollars my whole family uses that phone number plus whoever else we've used it since 2006.

The lady at self checkout is ridiculous. It should not matter if I have more than 15 items if there is absolutely nobody at self checkout. There’s literally 10 other self checkout booths open. Ridiculous.

I think there are too many things locked behind glass. While I was waiting for an employee to unlock it so I can get my cheap Dove hair spray I was feeling annoyed because my time was being wasted. What are you going to lock up next!
