I ate here last Saturday night and consider it easily one of my favorite dining experiences in Sunnyvale and a great value. It's clear the kitchen prepares every dish with love and pride in their cuisine.
The service was attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Even if you aren't familiar with the dish names, don't let that stop you. Our server guided us through the menu, helping us choose a fantastic variety of dishes that we might not have picked on our own.
Dishes we enjoyed:
Sabudana Khichdi: To my American taste buds, it reminded me of uniquely flavorful tater tots—chewy, comforting, and delicious.
Saoji Veg Matka Biryani: This was the star of the show. It was my wife's favorite biryani ever and full of flavor.
Paneer Pasanda & Paratha Paneer: Rich, creamy, and perfect for dipping the fresh breads (the Poori was also great).
Mango Lassi: Thick, flavorful, and served in a charming clay cup.
Everything is vegetarian, and the portions are very generous. If you are looking to step out of your comfort zone and try something beyond the standard Indian cuisine found elsewhere, this is the place. The food is delicious, the staff makes you feel like family, and we will definitely be back soon!
Some of the best authentic food (especially from Maharashtra) and the sweetest and kindest people...
Tastes and feels like home. Everyone visiting the area must visit... You will come back for more ❤️
This really reminded me of authentic Mahrastrian food and I felt at home. I strongly recommend this for anyone looking for tasty Mahrastrian food.

Had a delightful dining experience here with my mom and cousin on Christmas Eve 2025.
In addition to a variety of snack and street food choices, they serve a delectable Maharashtrian Thali for. Very modest price. It is an unlimited thali and comes with curries, a daal, dry vegetable sabzi, puris, chapatis, rice and also a great selection of appetizers and desserts.
Our thali had the traditional batata vada, crispy onion pakoras and the mandatory kothimbir vada to start with. All were served piping hot and they were delicious.
We also received paneer tikka masala, a Maharashtrian curry, yellow daal and a cauliflower-potato dry vegetable curry. Of course, with the puris came with fantastic fresh-made shrikhand. And gulab jamuns as an added treat.
Served with thecha and a great pickle, with a fried papad closing out the plate.
The host, Umesh, was fantastic. Enthusiastic and earnest, just like the food was honest and delicious. This level of personalized service is becoming exceedingly rare and I applaud this young gentleman for making the meal just perfect with his sunshiny attitude.
I recommend VKR enthusiastically. Give it a try and thank me later.

Terrible experience. From the moment you to the moment you leave this place doesn't make you welcome and it doesn't make you want to come back. Starting with the greasy dirty front door with oily fingerprints all over the handles and glass, to the spiderwebs on the ceiling to the below average food, Vishnuji doesn't deliver the goods.
We ordered their unlimited thali and they ran out of dal. Dal, the most basic of items. They didn't even offer a replacement dish until asked twice. The sabudana vada has lots of while peanuts in it which was strange and it was served with a sweet dahi mix of some sort, also weird. The vada pav was tasty but no chutney inside the pav. Not even on the side. The thali had dal, paneer palak which had too much cream and it was sweet and a very watery dal pakodi. The assortment of fries included mirchi bajji, kothimbir vadai (frozen tastes better) and roti and puri. The rotis were soft and fresh.
Service was poor and uncoordinated. There was a young girl who was eager and friendly but the manager was arrogant and assumed everything's fine and dandy even after I told him how unhappy I was with the food and overall experience.
