While standing in front of the deli, a lady from the back kitchen came out, looked at me once, said nothing, and went back into the kitchen. She called another lady to come out. This second lady comes out, licks her fingers, and reaches for gloves. She could not open the glove she grabbed from a box, so she pinched it to open. I asked her to wash her hands, so she looked at me and rolled her eyes. Both bad customer service and bad hygiene.

Shame on whoever let those be put out for purchase. They were AWFUL. Thick undercooked dough, they were heavy and dense and tasted like rancid lard. Took them back to another Safeway and got new ones there. I don’t know what Safeway bakers are doing but these croissants are not croissant consistency and no butter flavor. Very disappointing.
