The fried shrimp, jerk chicken and oxtail are delicious. Not a fancy or big place but the food is delicious.

Disappointing Experience at Flavas
The food at Flavas was bland and mediocre. My mother ordered the escovitch fish, which came fried instead of steamed, topped with five plain onions — making the meal flavorless and unappetizing. My husband and I had the oxtail and jerk chicken, which were both about a 2/5 — the rice was mushy, and there were hardly any vegetables. We were even told there would be a $3 charge for cabbage.
When my mother called to request a refund (since she didn’t eat or touch her meal), we were told to come back the next day at 12 p.m. instead of simply sending the refund electronically. That might have been fine if we were local, but we’re visiting from Los Angeles, so that was very inconvenient.

I’ve ordered from here many times and lately it’s been off.
I spent $140 to get six individual pieces of oxtail when I ordered four orders of oxtail. I also got the jerk chicken….incredibly unflavored jerk chicken…
In the past, I would get between four and six pieces oxtail of varying size per order!!!
I called the store and some dude answered the phone and demanded I come to the store to negotiate with the chef about my issue…. To which I gave him a prompt ” 🥷 pls”
I was under the impression. Jamaican spoke English-patois as a first language…I speak very good English, and he acted like he could not understand anything I was saying, despite him being clearly Jamaican.
Absolute disappointment, waste of money never ordering again.
