Just wanted to make sure everyone here knows what an awesome guy Josh is. Our box truck got stuck in the parking lot and Josh, and one other gentleman (I believe his name is Ruben) went above and beyond get us out. We will always be grateful for the kindness he showed us out of towners! They need a raise and promotion! Updated*

I'm from out of town, and this could have been a one off experience, but I bought some bell peppers that looked normal on the outside. One contained multiple stages of insect inside with mold all over the seeds. I threw it away and tried to just move on, but no produce I've bought at large grocery stores has ever been that bad. It unsettled me for a while.

Prices can be high here and some things have increased ridiculously, like their hot chinese bowls for instance, not long ago it was 6.99-7.99, now it's 9.99! For the quality, its not worth that increase (sometimes the rice may be dry or the food might be cold, i guess maybe some times customers put them back when they don't want it, i don't know). It's okay if you're hungry and need something quick. Even 12pk sodas increased a dollar this year again! But i just bought a half loaf of bread last night and that was 3.49! If i would have waited a few more hours (price change Wednesdays, it would have been 1.99!) Just goes to show how these corporate grocery store chains can maximize prices to maximize profit. What i would do, is keep prices consistent and have lower than the higher price, doesn't have to be the absolutely the best price (no need for hassle for coupons and stuff), there would be less need to change ads all the time and hopefully eventually waste less paper and less confusion, and less people needing to go to customer service. And if people can afford to buy more, more profit for you, Safeway. Keep prices at a fair point. Customers matter and will return more often if you show them that and offer reasonable prices. This way too, that there would be less overstock, less need to markdown prices, and less waste and expired food. I found a bread that was dated for last christmas yesterday! But the worker stocking it, may just have missed it, it was in the way back, but also this location recently had an inventory inspection, so i don't know how they missed that. They also had expired tags that were a week old as well! I helped them to pull them all out and gave it to a worker, i was trying to exchange something that seemed like a better deal, but because of the tags never being pull out, it was going to be a dollar more than what the tag says. But yes, the workers here are friendly.
