I usually like Safeway. But lately it’s been busy and employees complaining about how everyone called in on a Saturday. 1 register open and 1 person working the self checkouts. Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge lines. What's disaster. Don’t think I will be going here that often anymore on weekends.

"Lake Tahoe's Safeway is open 24 hours, and I really enjoy going there in the evenings when it's nice and quiet. Tonight, though, was a different story. They were restocking shelves, and the first two aisles were completely blocked off by staff who didn't look too thrilled to see me. One even kicked his stool in annoyance as I tried to get by. Then, when I was at the self-checkout fixing a mistake on an item, the attendant, Jim, was pretty rude. I told him I needed to swap the item out, and he basically told me to hurry up because he was shutting down and didn't have time to wait. Not exactly the peaceful late-night trip I was hoping for!"

It sucked. Got to the area and we're going to stock up before checking in a hotel. Gathered a few items and headed to checkout. I had alcohol and could not go through self-checkout. There was only one checkout open with the line of at least 20 people. Completely ridiculous. Left my cart with its items in the aisle and went to a different store
