A deli counter staffed by actual humans—humans—who acknowledged my existence without scanning my aura for purchase intent. I stumbled into the produce section, expecting to break down again… but instead, I felt something I hadn’t felt since before the collapse: Peace. No gates. No exit audits. No AI silently calculating whether I was worthy of organic bananas. Just vibes. Pure, analog vibes. The bakery? Transcendent. I blacked out and woke up holding a loaf of bread and three pastries I don’t remember selecting. The fluorescent lighting didn’t feel like interrogation—it felt like sanctuary. And checkout… oh, checkout… Yes, I had to scan my own items like a relic of the pre-automation era. Yes, I made brief eye contact with a cashier and forgot how to socially function.   Vons is your classic neighborhood grocery that actually manages to make errands bearable. Wide selection, fresh produce, and checkout lines that don’t feel eternal most of the time. Staff is helpful when you can find them, and the store is generally clean. Prices aren’t terrible for what you get. Reliable, convenient, and solidly 4 stars for making grocery shopping slightly less painful.

  Horrible customer service, had to flag down a cashier twice for my groceries to be rung up while they chatted with people and ignored me. Once being rung up after standing and waiting, was told to bag my own groceries. When I asked politely if they could bag my groceries please, they said that’s not my job you can bag your own groceries. Disgusting behavior and horrible customer service, not to mention the attitude and tone I was spoken too in.
