Also, when a price is rung up incorrectly, guest services personnel is extremely rude and tries anything to not refund the incorrect price. I’m going to a different grocery store after today’s (and the last few times) experience.

I ordered it online, because they had it as an option. I’m 8 months pregnant, and went to pick it up the day before my baby shower. The lady who gave me the cake didn’t make it but she even admitted it didn’t look like a heart. We took the cake anyway because we unfortunately didn’t have time to have it re made or get it somewhere else, but I don’t think you should advertise heart-shaped cakes if you can’t make them. When we went to the check out line to pay for the cake (we weren’t even offered a discount or anything) I was standing at the end of the checkout texting my sister about the cake while my mother was paying, and the man working the register SLAPPED the counter at me like a dog, attempting to startle me off of being on my phone. When I looked up at him he made an extremely rude comment about how he likes to do that to people who have their face in their phones, basically trying to shame me for being on my phone in public. I am not a child who needs to be taught a lesson and I was not being rude to him whatsoever. I unfortunately did not get his name but he was an older guy working the express lane on Thursday 1/8/2026 at around 4pm. If you want to be publicly shamed/dehumanized while paying for a product that isn’t what you ordered, go to this Safeway.
