Please stop selling rotten meat. I am tired of having to throw it out and have nothing to eat when I can home.
Do you have a problem with your cold chain?
In the short time you have been open I had to throw out multiple meat products right after coming home because they smelled rotten.

TLDR: Awful and scary experience. I have never felt so racially profiled as a professional adult. Please do not give your money to this establishment. On Christmas Eve 12/24 around 5pm, at this Vons (710 Broadway) a man who appeared to be staff followed me out the store and raised his voice at me in public accusing theft. I didn't and I would never even *think* to steal something from a grocery store, which is why I was so shocked. I felt totally unsafe and harassed.
Full version: Imagine me on Christmas Eve after a walk down Wilshire where I picked up a nice slice of cake on my way home. I made a joke to the server that she could give me lot- she laughed and actually gave me such a big slice I had to hold it in my hand because the lid wouldn't fit. I give this background because it highlights that this cake obviously didn't come from Vons. I stopped at Vons to see what I might get for dinner. Since I felt unsure, I figured I'd go home and come back since I live close. As I walked out, I passed 2 men, I nodded and said "Merry Christmas" - as I had to everyone today. One of the men started following me closely, he asked me how I was. I couldn't tell if he worked at the store, and I wasn't sure if he was hitting on me because he was so close. I just said "I'm well, hope you're well" and kept walking. He pursued me out the store closely and said "I'm good but I want to know if you're going to pay for that cake." At first I was so confused, first, who is this guy? I was holding the cake out right in front of me the whole time, from entrance to exit. He couldn't possibly have thought I stole the cake from the store?! After a beat I said, "Oh no, I already paid for this cake, I got it at a bakery" and he said, aggressively, "I know they don't take receipts at the bakery, you didn't pay for that cake." I said, "What? Oh shoot, my phone is dead or I would show you the receipt, this isn't from Vons." Then he said "OH I KNOW YOU DON'T HAVE A RECEIPT I SAW YOU TAKE THAT." At this point, we're halfway down the street. This man is following me home and yelling at me! My anxiety and frustration grew and I honestly couldn't figure out what to say. Now, I have a man domineering over me, accusing me of a crime I didn't commit, one that in fact wouldn't make ANY sense (just to reiterate, I walked in with a large slice of cake in my hand, I didn't try to hide it, I didn't try to run from him, I patiently told him where I got it. This unclosed piece of cake was too big for the container, which also wasn't from Vons, there is no reason to think I was blatantly trying to get away with stealing!). I turned to him and said I'm not going to do this with you, I'm a local- I live in this neighborhood, I have no reason to steal your cake. The man shouted that he would keep an eye on me and make sure he followed me if I went in the store. I was horrified by the threat. I went back and offered for him to look at the cake and even take it to the bakery section so he could clearly see I wasn't a thief getting away with anything. He refused so I asked for an apology. I was so upset, this guy clearly made a mistake and in the end I wanted to not feel afraid around that store. At this point, of course, I'm never going back. He refused to identify himself in the end. Even if I was a thief, the situation was handled ENTIRELY unprofessionally even for a security guard. It was strange and disconcerting to have this man hovering over me, feigning conversation and then verbally attacking and accusing me. If anything, he could say excuse me did you get that cake from here, to which I could have responded no and we both could have moved on. I can't imagine a slice of cake is worth anyone's peace to this extent. But this man got hooked and created a nightmare for an innocent person on Christmas Eve. I went from a pleasant walk in my neighborhood to being followed, yelled at, accused, and threatened! I'm completely disgusted. I’m asking store management to ensure staff are trained to address concerns without harassment or pursuing customers off-property.

The new store is amazing! Huge shout out to staff member Yesenia !! She’s dressed as an adorable elf and she works the self check out and she is just one of the best energies I’ve ever had there !! The management and staff are great! The store is gorgeous. However, the only issue is the fact that there are tons of trash outside all around the grocery store entrance now because people are stupid and there are no trash bins so they throw everything on the ground specifically homeless people and transient. I pay taxes, I live across the street, I’m tired of seeing trash everywhere. I’ve written the city on the 311 app with no response I don’t know who to reach out to! There needs to be a trash receptacle outside the entrance of Vons to stop the clutter and trash all over the ground

Normally I have a really wonderful time shopping at Vons, but today I was frustrated with my experience with the supervisor at the customer service desk. I explained that I just bought a pack of dog treats and when I opened them, they were completely moldy. So incredibly disgusting! While I am appreciative that I was given a refund, no action was taken to check if the other packages were the same, and none were pulled from the shelving. While I understand Vons didn’t pack the dog treats themselves, I feel disgusted by the lack of urgency and severity to the damaged product and potential of more being sold to other customers. I really have enjoyed shopping here, but am going to minimize that considering this incident.
