I want to start by saying that one of my hobbies is traveling around the world and discovering new cuisines by visiting restaurants, and in this case Elefante really disappointed me. I feel that the price–quality ratio does not match what you actually get when your food arrives at the table—simply put, the kitchen doesn’t even know what al dente pasta is. In my opinion, this is a place to have drinks and order tapas or pizza. Don’t order main dishes because they’re not good. The service was poor, maybe because the restaurant was overly crowded, as they mix private events with regular tables and don’t tell you beforehand. I was celebrating my mother’s birthday and we barely talked because everyone there seemed to be shouting instead of talking. They sell you a very “L.A.-style” experience so you can take pictures and show off a social life, instead of offering good food. There are many restaurants nearby with much better culinary experiences and at better prices. I’m truly disappointed with this place. The passion fruit and “white chocolate” dessert was the only thing I could somewhat save because it tasted good, but unfortunately it wasn’t even white chocolate—it was just whipped egg with sugar. I cook too! Please don’t scam people, because some of us actually know what we’re ordering. It’s not worth spending your money here if what you want is to celebrate a special occasion. They don’t care. This is a bar, not a restaurant.

Don’t think this was that great. We ordered: - tuna tartare: very mid, it was fresh but particular flavorful - whipped eggplant: the eggplant was not that great but the bread was. The eggplant felt like it just lacked flavor - calamari: this was actually cooked very well and flavorful. I didn’t like the aioli but the calamari was very good on its own - pizza: it tasted like a slightly better Trader Joe’s pizza, not in a positive way - branzino: it was cooked very well and not bad at all, but still lacked a bit of flavor The service was also meh, our food took a long time to come out, waiting about 30 mins between the apps and mains. Our waiter was also not as helpful and a bit dismissive. It seems you only come here for the vibes and decor but it was a bit too loud to have a decent conversation.

We visited the restaurant for my husband’s birthday, just the two of us, and unfortunately I was very disappointed. We didn’t have a reservation, so we waited for a table for 1.5 hours, but we specifically asked for a table on the terrace and ended up being seated in the middle of the dining room. The server wasn’t friendly at all. He barely approached our table, and when we asked questions, he didn’t seem willing to answer. When I mentioned my husband’s birthday, he brought us tiramisu, but didn’t even congratulate him. The food itself was delicious. We ordered the truffle pasta, which was incredible, and the whipped stracchino cheese, which was also very good. I’m really upset that the service was so underwhelming, especially since it was a birthday.

My experience at Elephante was a bit varied: the drinks were the best part, the food was decent but the service was severely lacking. I was there for a total of 2 hours and the only time I saw my waiter was when I was first seated and made my initial order. If I hadn’t flagged other servers down to order another drink, another dish, and my dessert (all separate occasions) I’m sure that no one would have checked on me. I’m not sure if it’s because I was a solo diner or maybe because I’m young and they thought I wouldn’t tip but I noticed that both the table in front and behind me were checked on by wait staff every 15 minutes or so. In the end, I spent much longer here than anticipated + spent $130 for 1 person (before tip) and I still tipped 20% out of courtesy because I know how life be but I didn’t really want to & I’m not sure who my tip is going to because I didn’t really have a waiter. This might be a stretch but I think the atmosphere was a bit elitist but it could just be my experience. I usually don’t write bad reviews but it was genuinely strange enough. I wanted to treat myself while on vacation and it wasn’t quite what I was expecting especially given the cost.

Ehh. It’s a try hard scene-y spot that only cares who you are. I have been there numerous times and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the last time I was there it became abundantly clear. Friends from out of town always want to go here, and I have been happy to oblige as I enjoy the sunset views and their famous eggplant dip. But every time I’ve been here, I’ve been treated like an imposition for simply being there, shoved at a table with barely enough space, crammed between 4 other parties and a server trying to rush to get their next cover. The last time I was there, they were “setting up for a private party” which literally included tables being carried OVER my party. It was stressful and chaotic. When asking our server, she was immediately rude about the situation. There were at least 10 open tables in the front (near the railing) but I was told those were all booked. Then some influencers in sweatpants came in, were given those tables and I watched the staff members discuss their needs and serve them right away; while I’ve been waiting 10 minutes for a drink and am having tables carried over me. I follow another Bachelor contestant on Instagram that is always perched in the front. This is a see and be scene spot more than anything, and if you’re an everyday person trying to enjoy the sunset with your mom, you’re better off elsewhere.
