  Absolutely loved our experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.! 🦐✨ The location right on the pier is unbeatable: amazing ocean views and such a fun atmosphere. The food was delicious (especially the shrimp dishes!) and everything came out fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better, quick service and great vibes all around. Perfect spot if you want something tasty, casual but still a bit iconic while in Santa Monica. We had such a great time and would definitely come back! 💙🌊

  Location can't be beat and the service was outstanding but my dish of absolutely overcooked shrimp with pieces of tail still attached from time to time left me not wanting to return. My son got the kids chicken strips and fries and the strips were ok enough to eat but the fries were mushy so he skipped them.

  Ein Restaurant ist wie eine Pralinenschachtel – man weiß nie, was man bekommt. Das hat sich seit den Bewertungen drastisch verändert und was es geboten gibt, weiß man bei der Bubba Gump Shrimp Company sowieso. Besonders idyllisch und touristisch gelegen ist die Filiale am Santa-Monica-Pier und wird somit dem filmischen Vorbild ungemein gerecht. In erster Linie, weil es zu alledem in der Traumfabrik höchstpersönlich liegt. Mit einem herrlichen Ausblick über den rauen Pazifik und je nach Wetter vollen Stränden. Wegen des prominenten Namens und der Touri-Scharen sollte man reservieren oder 30 Minuten Wartezeit einkalkulieren. Die Zeit kann man sich auf dem Riesenrad vis-à-vis totschlagen. Sobald man die SMS erhalten hat, dass ein Tisch verfügbar ist, heißt es: „Lauf, Forrest, lauf.“ Mit derselben Freude, mit der Tom Hanks die Netze eingeholt hat, bedient einen das zuvorkommende Personal. Bei so einem Erlebnis wird das Essen eher zur Nebensache. So werden auf den Tischen Kindergeburtstage gefeiert und der Ausflug an den Strand zelebriert. Viele der Gäste kennen Lieutenant Dan nur mehr vom Hörensagen, obwohl Gary Sinise dem Lokal höchstpersönlich seinen Segen gegeben hat. Auf der Speisekarte gibt es natürlich, so wie es Forrest Bubba 1994 versprochen hat, frischen Fisch direkt vom Kutter. Wer nicht weiß, was Fish & Chips oder ein Shrimp-Cocktail ist, für den ist die ganze Karte auch bebildert. Die Bereitschaft zur Bestellung signalisiert man mit roter und blauer Nummerntafel am Tisch und wer auf die Toilette muss, der findet hinter den Türen mit der Aufschrift "Jenny“ und "Forrest“ das Porzellan. Und weil man den Besuch im Lokal nicht vergessen will, kann man im angeschlossenen Souveniershop die passenden Mützen und T-Shirts kaufen.

  It was a regular bubba gump. Food was ok. The sunset view is gorgeous. I was a little surprised by their charging policy. My phone was dying and I just politely asked if I could charge it for 10 mins as I would also need it to pay the bill- but they refused. I have never had that happen. This is one of those things where their customer experience/ service is still stuck in a point of time. I had to pay early due to my stress of phone dying and left early before sunset because I needed to find a place where I could charge my phone so that I could get home. This is a common use case for paying customers and I am not sure I understood their reasoning and they didn’t even explain it. In this day and age that’s bad service IMO.

  First time here and it didn't disappoint. I have had friends and family recommend multiple times and I'm glad I was able to finally try it. The stuffed shrimp was so good wish I ordered more. If you are local or visiting definitely a great seafood place to try. Beware long wait times any day of the week. Place your name on the wait list before hand and set a reminder to head back after walking the pier or beach.
