  I got to work early to beat Santa Monica traffic and wanted a quiet spot to relax with a coffee before starting my day. Most nearby places were still closed, so I checked Maps and found Bluestone. I tried their cappuccino, and I’m glad I did. A great start to the day 🙂

  For Aussie's visiting Santa Monica and expecting a hit of decent coffee or an avocado toast you will be disappointed. I went to another branch of Bluestone in NY years ago and it was great - perfect coffee and a decent avocado toast with chilli flakes. Which made it more disappointing that it's now an over-priced chain selling mediocre coffee (no ceramic even if you're having in) and insultingly small portions for the price. Food also served in a box and with plastic cutlery even if you're dining there. Staff were disengaged bordering on rude. So you don't even get smiley American service for your trouble. Try anywhere else.

  The barista asked me what size cappuccino I would like and I responded to him that I thought cappuccinos were only one size. Next time I will leave when this happens. I ended up with a passive aggressively made beverage. My undrinkable coffee was way too hot and he made sure to align the sipping hole with the seam so that it dripped on my pants and stained them. He wins this round because I paid and got an undrinkable cup of coffee and dirty clothes, but I will never be back to this very below average and rude coffee shop.

  Place shows generousity and kindness. I managed to get free water and a free small chocolate waffle bar from the café. Definitely give this place a chance they also have outlets but no built in table charging. Definitely will arrive here if it's nearby at the Santa Monica area.

  Went here on a holiday and they had almost no food available. The staff didn’t seem to know what was in stock. We ordered two items, and one was completely forgotten until I asked about it. They had to check the order again to see what I had even ordered. When it was finally made, there was no apology. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told to “come back.” I asked at least for an apology for forgetting the order, and I was told come back and speak to the supervisor. I won’t be returning to this location or any Bluestone Lane, there are plenty of better coffee and food options with staff who are attentive and courteous.
