  I was completing an Uber Eats delivery between 8:00–9:00 p.m. Sunday night and had a disappointing experience at this Safeway location. At the time, there was only one cashier open. Next to him were the self-checkout lanes, where the store director appeared to be standing. I went to the cashier because Uber Eats orders require payment through a QR code in the app. Unfortunately, the payment would not go through right away, so I called Uber Eats driver support for assistance. I politely let the cashier know that he could set my items aside and continue helping other customers while I was on the phone. When I returned to the line, we attempted to scan the QR code again, but it still would not work. I then decided to try the self-checkout. As I was walking over, the cashier made a smart remark about Uber Eats, saying something along the lines of, “They won’t help you.” The comment came across as dismissive and rude. I went to the self-checkout and rang up the items there. The store director was nearby the entire time, but did not seem to notice or address how rude and unprofessional the cashier was being. Throughout the interaction, the cashier was impatient, disrespectful, and showed a complete lack of care for the items I was purchasing. I do not know if he was in a rush to leave work or if he has a negative attitude toward Uber Eats drivers, but his behavior was unacceptable and made the situation much more difficult than it needed to be. I did not get his name, but he was a younger man, likely in his 20s, with brown hair, a slim build, and around 5'5". I am providing this description so management may be able to identify who was working at that time and address the situation. I have never had a bad experience at Safeway before, which is why this stood out. I understand technical issues can happen, but I expected better customer service, professionalism, and respect.

  I accidentally rang my stuff up in self chdckout without running my discount card and the woman very patiently heloed me and issued me a refund. Good people work here
