Food was delicious, everything had flavor. Service was amazing 👏 the sauces all have different pairings, and tasted great. Only complaint was certain parts of the brisket was a little dry but still tasted great. The beans had chunks of garlic and onions, so if you don't like that sort of thing I would order a different side, I personally enjoyed it. The Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. Cornbread was crispy on the outside but still soft and moist on the inside with real pieces of corn in the bread. The honey jalapeño butter on the corn bread tasted great too, but couldn't really taste any of the jalapeño portion but then again I really love spicy foods and eat really hot chillies on a regular. All and all I definitely will come back again. Prices seems fair and they have toothpicks! lol

These people know their meat!!!!
Brisket 10/5 juicy/fatty/flavorful… like me ;)
Sausage 5/5 great flavor and seasoning, nice snap
Tri-tip 4/5 great flavor but dry, cooked past medium
Sides 1/5
Ok- the hard part is the sides, like no one cares about the sides and I share this hopeful that they will be action.
Cesar salad $11 with about $1 worth of ingredients, it’s concave in the bowl with some bagged Parmesan on it.
“Loaded” baked potato $12 with less than probably $2 with of cheese, bacon and some watered down sour cream. Not even salt and peppered or with butter- super dry and underwhelming (it’s a baked potato guys it take minimum effort to make it delicious)
Mac & cheese probably the most disappointing while it’s a fair size serving it’s kinda like a box of kraft but less flavor- now it has a slightly flour texture so if they make it from scratch it’s not cooked long enough so the raw flour texture is still there and 💯 absent of flavor
Banana pudding $9 3.5/5 they use some artificial jello base so it makes it bouncy but it’s not that bad and it’s a pint
Ice tea- was cloudy so tastes old and watered down at the same time- they took it off the bill
The sauces on the table were great variety and most tasted so good!
Service - great, our waitress was super enthusiastic and lovely to interact with.
Cute bbq shop and I’m glad we stopped by on the way to Santa Cruz.

I had high hopes for the $34 pulled pork and brisket "Special," but the quality wasn't there. The pork lacked freshness and felt like it had been nuked from the day before, while the brisket was tough and solid instead of fall-off-the-bone tender. Beyond the food, the service was sluggish despite the lack of a crowd; we even saw a patron leave before being served. It’s a decent spot if you’re just there to drink, but the BBQ leaves a lot to be desired.
If you are in SJB just go to JJ's or if you want BBQ make the drive to Gilroy, Morgan Hill or Aptos.
