  I had a concerning experience at this restaurant on Tuesday 3/24 around 5:00 PM. I was outside speaking with my sister, who was visibly distressed (sobbing) and appeared intoxicated. We were discussing serious personal issues. A server came outside, observed the situation, and attempted to get her to order food. I clearly told him multiple times that we were not interested and told him to leave us alone. Despite this, he ignored me and continued engaging with her directly, encouraging her to come inside and order. He focused on her while she was in a vulnerable state and disregarded my repeated refusals. My sister later told me she did not want to order. I found this behavior inappropriate and concerning, as it involved continued pressure on someone who was visibly distressed and not in a clear state of mind to make decisions. I hope management reviews how staff handle situations involving visibly distressed or intoxicated customers, especially given the nearby bar.

  Highly recommend Walia! We catered an event from here and the food was a big hit! They were easy to work with for order and pickup and require just 24 hours notice. The restaurant guided us on the quantities which turned out to be just right, so I’d suggest ordering a little more to be on the safe side especially given how delicious it all is! We ordered the Misir Wot, Gomen(collared greens), and Atkilt (cabbage, carrots, and potatoes) along with injera. Each dish was excellent! In addition to the flavor and the balanced nature of the food, we chose Walia because this meal is suitable for gluten-sensitive diners, vegetarians, and children.

  Tasty, fresh authentic cuisine. Good service and cozy, cultural atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday night and got a little busy and noticed they also had a lot of take out business. We will be back.
