Hello, today after noon03/26/26, I went to the Safeway that is near my house on Brayham Lane. I went there to buy the items for my child from the WIC card. After I went there and bought it, the machines were not working. I then contacted the supervisor, who was a white woman. She again, in a very rude manner, told me that she had sent me the money. But since the money didn’t arrive for me, I told her that she didn’t send it, and they took the money from my child’s WIC card. She said no, she sent it to me. When I tried to take a picture, she behaved very rudely with me and told me that she would send it. She is a very weak, disorganized, and undisciplined staff member. Thank you

I went here on 3/6/26, roughly at 5 PM. Writing this review, I'd have to say this has to be possibly the poorest Safeway I've ever visited.
First, I went to the deli and there weren't any issues (technically speaking), but the young staff appeared to not want to be there. When I asked a question, there weren't any smiles or anything special, but I was assisted and received an answer without issues to be fair.
Next, I encountered a young and tall Caucasian female with a long sleeve sweater sweeping the floors. I greeted her, she just stormed past and then I asked, 'Hey, you like working here?" She gave me a dirty look, totally in her own world and continued walking away. Usually, I have conversations with people at Trader Joe's or other places I've gone to just to chat and get to know the store and employees.
Later, I happened to encounter her again and decided to ask about a ready to eat salad. She avoided eye contact, didn't want to face me and just mumbled something and walked away. So, I asked, "Do you recommend the hot deli food?" She looked down at the ground, facing me sideways and said, "Personally I don't prefer it," or something she mumbled that I couldn't hear clearly with zero smile or warmth, and quickly walked away. It felt intense. I just said, "Oh, okay—thanks." Technically, she did answer my question and sort of made a tiny amount of effort. But, not really. Perhaps customers here typically don't ask questions to the employees and the management doesn't train them in customer service.
When I was at the self checkout area, the male employee there also was totally unfocused and doing something else. Nearly every Safeway I'v gone to, I'm immediately assisted. However, I wasn't here.
Finally, when I tried to exit at the door, the door was apparently locked (because of a 7 PM rule I didn't know). When I turned around, I saw that same tall Caucasian female again at the front talking to another female. I clarified that the door wasn't working in a friendly manner, and before I even approached, the tall Caucasian female (who was giving me dirty looks and being unhelpful and unfriendly) saw me and instantly ran away and disappeared. When I approached, the other young female there, she told me the door was locked because of the time and to use the other door, and walked away and started doing something else. I just told her thank you in a friendly manner (apparently I was talking to myself), then I walked to the main entrance and left.
Ultimately, I will not come back here. It's completely unwelcoming, the selection is basic, the store is outdated and the customer service is extremely poor. I suggest to go to a better supermarket for a much better experience. Especially if you both want and expect great customer service.
