- DKDoyle Kaufman5 days ago1.0Google: I live near the Midtown @Safeway Store #1476 at 1300 West San Carlos so obviously it was my go-to grocery store. I was out getting my 10,000 steps and had to go pee so stopped in here. They wouldn’t give me a code for the bathroom. Some young punk with a burger wedged in his nose ring and who was young enough to be my grandson, said it is only for paying customers and since I didn’t buy anything there THAT DAY, I didn’t qualify. Only people with a receipt, which contains a code, qualify. I go here all the time but because I didn’t buy anything THIS DAY, they’re not going to let an old man pee in their bathroom.. This Safeway store has TONS of competitors nearby so I recommend taking your business to a place that appreciates their customers. This Safeway store obviously doesn’t. Check out the photos for places that are within a 15 minute drive. Smart & Final is across the street and Food Maxx is a 1/4 mile down Meridian and both have much better prices. I hope this convinces them to change their policy but I doubt it will. I’ll simply never go there again
