I only go here for items I can't find elsewhere. Safeway priduce is awful. All items cost more on average here than elsewhere.

Though products are good quality they can be pricey. Some of the staff is nice while others ate utterly indifferent. It’s chillier inside than outside for some reason.

Milk past expiration date.
Understaffed so they tell people to do self-checkout even when you have unbarcoded items.
When the one employee finally deigns to ring up the items that didn't have barcodes, he charged for extra items (extra bagels) and somehow some of the items that weren't being double-charged for didn't end up in the grocery bags.
I'm not sure if it is incompetence, bad layout in the self-checkout area, or passive aggressive behavior, but there are other stores in the area that haven't yet decided to cut customer service so badly.
I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Had a horrible experience at this store. This was few days after the thanksgiving and there were lot of customers inside evening time and only 1 person was helping at the main check out counter?
All other counters are closed for what reason??
Self check out is only for 15 items or less and all the customers were using this service as they were helpless, but its a small area and everyone got stuck because of their huge cart which you cannot even move 🤣. Hilarious situation
Also Store didnt have any strawberries and yet when I asked a store associate, they said go to berries section. Its still not there. They have no idea if they even had it or where is it or it was sold out.
There was one associate at the floral, simply standing for 30mins and when asked if you can help said no i work only at the floral, this is very inefficient to have your staff stand at the floral Section even with no customers and let customers struggle to checkout because store is understaffed?
Safeway at other locations are much better with better customer service and facilities. If you are understaffed, pls do not make that as a customer problem.
