Great ambiance and back porch area, high-quality food and giant lattes. Excellent brunch spot.

Overall, a decent experience. Highlights: the Albert eggs benedict was delicious and the buttermilk pancake was very good (way better than the gingerbread and french toast in the Sarah Jane's flight.) Low points: the hot chocolate was really watered down. Also, I really worry about the sanitary conditions of this place. The bathroom, the dishwashing, and the pass where the finished food sits before being served is all right next to each other and it's also the choke point where patrons walk through to get to the back area seating. The floor was also really slippery in this area.

We ordered the pain de mie French toast with orange cinnamon batter and the Albert eggs benedict. Unfortunately, the French toast was underwhelming — it was essentially just a plain piece of bread with very little flavor or effort, lacking the richness or creativity you’d expect from a French restaurant. It didn’t feel like much was done to elevate the dish. The eggs benedict, on the other hand, was fine and reliable. Nicely cooked eggs and a decent hollandaise, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was mixed. The savory option was satisfactory, but the French toast fell short of expectations.

Delicious food but unfortunately very poor service. We were on the patio on a cold evening and asked the server to turn on the overhead heater as we had seniors with us who were cold. She gaslit us and told us it was already on when it clearly was not. When we pushed, she admitted “when it comes on, it gets too hot.” During our meal we asked two more times if they could turn it on as did each of our neighboring tables who were told the same platitude. We even said “No one is complaining about the heat, everyone is complaining about the cold” to no avail. Additionally, our server was just generally inattentive. She started by listing several dishes that were unavailable before saying hello, and gave an incomplete list as two in our party were told “we’re out of that too!” At the outset we asked if we could split the bill and were told no, waited 15 minutes to pay the bill at the end, and were unpleasantly surprised by the credit card surcharge that was omitted from the total. There are many places in SF with as good or better food that will treat you better. We won’t be back.
