On top of enjoying the ramen (Spicy Miso and House are excellent!), we also love the different selections of appetizers that Hinodeya has to offer. This branch is located in the heart of the city and we had the pleasure to be hosted by Paloma! The restaurant was busy but we never waited too long.
It’s really hard to find truly authentic Japanese ramen in San Francisco, but this place surprised me in the best way! It’s not a perfect 100, but it’s solidly 80 points—definitely one of the closest experiences I’ve had to real street-style ramen in Japan recently.

We celebrated our daughter’s 19th birthday here, and it was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious and beautifully presented — every dish exceeded our expectations.
A special thank you to Shin, who truly made the night unforgettable. Shin’s warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful touches made our daughter feel so special and celebrated. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to come back!

We have just landed in San Francisco after travelling from the UK and immediately came here to try the ramen.
The gluten free noodles were some of the best I have had and the whole dish was just incredible.
Service was very quick and candy looked after us well. We will be back while we are here!
We needed a quick place to eat before our play and HINODEYA was nearby.
Although there was a line, the service team got through the line quickly. We were seated outside (with heaters above us).
The food was great for the price. I can’t say it was the absolute best ramen I’ve ever had but it was very good.
What we ordered: Takoyaki (8/10), Chicken Karaage (9/10), Hinodeya Ramen (8/10), Tonkatsu Umami Max (8.5/10)
The best part about the entire visit was Van, one of our service staff. He was attentive and accommodating, even helping my girlfriend pack her ramen after he brought us our to-go boxes.
If you’re in the area, I would definitely check it out.
