Came here during our trip around San Diego County as one of our last stops and a place that was recommended. The spot definitely has beautiful panoramic ocean views, especially from the window seats… but unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy that part.
We asked the hostess for a table by the window and were denied right away, even though there were about 5–6 empty window tables the entire time we were there. That alone was a downer. What made it worse is that from what I personally observed, those seats were consistently given to European-American/Anglo guests, while others (including us) were seated more toward the middle, away from the grand view. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but it didn’t sit right based on what we experienced.
The vibe is lively, which is nice. Food-wise, it was hit or miss. Oysters were fresh but small, chicken wings had a good home-style flavor, and the fries were decent. Fried sushi was overcooked and dry. The shrimp and fish ceviche was just okay and very small portions for a pretty steep price not to mention, that ceviche lacked that Mexican bold, fresh, citrusy flavor you’d expect.
Big credit to our waitress Hailey—she was great and honestly the best part of the experience.
Also, be aware they add a surcharge to your bill (around 4%), which is easy to miss, especially on top of already high prices and a standard tip.

Great time at the Waterbar for a rehearsal night. Food was excellent. Mother of the Groom had to keep alerting staff to refill food though. Drinks seemed watered down. I had four drinks and didn't have effects. Fun place with pretty views.

We were a group of 18, 14 high school seniors and 4 adults, that traveled from WI. We ate here for a nice dinner option and had the best experience. The food was all excellent. We shared a couple appetizers and a sushi roll and for entrees we had a good variety: lobster mac & cheese, salmon, steak frites, fish, halibut, lobster roll, fish tacos, smash burger, seafood pasta and the poke bowl. The service was fantastic and friendly and our food came out quickly. This was a really great experience with great food, good music/vibe, the windows open and sunset on the beach. We all enjoyed! As a side note, I did make a reservation ahead of time and the person I worked with was also wonderful.

Get a reservation for a window seat for sunset. Beautiful view of the beach, the ocean and the boardwalk.

Came for brunch as a group of 10. Overall really good experience but PSA the bottomless mimosas only include two cups of juice. That’s fine but it wasn’t clear before we ordered. We got plenty of champagne but would have paced it a little better if we’d known in advance.
