  Feedback Regarding Coffee Quality – Panera Bread (4S Ranch) ​Hello, ​I am a loyal fan of Panera Bread and frequently visit various locations throughout San Diego. I strictly drink your Dark Roast coffee, black, with no sugar or additives. ​I’m writing because the 4S Ranch location specifically needs to address its coffee preparation. While the quality used to be acceptable, it has been steadily declining recently. My experience today was the breaking point—to be honest, the coffee was undrinkable, and I was forced to throw it away. I’m not sure if the issue lies with the water filtration or the brewing process, as the beans themselves usually seem fine, but something is definitely wrong. ​For comparison, the coffee at the Carmel Mountain Panera is consistently excellent. Even if I arrive 30 minutes before closing, I can count on a great cup. The Solana Beach location is also consistently good. ​I understand that every day can be different, but this feedback comes from a place of genuine disappointment. The coffee at 4S Ranch has been "subpar" for a while now, and that is putting it mildly. Please look into your brewing standards at this location so I can enjoy my Dark Roast there again. ​Best regards!

  This place has to be the worst Panera bread ever! The sandwiches meat was dry, plain at best. Asked for sourdough bread but got something else weird and also requested extra pickles and didn’t get it. They took forever to make it like 20 plus minutes and it was slow. Over priced food leaving bad taste in your mouth! Huge Regret! Btw their meat tastes like imitation meat (fake) ? Unbelievable UPDATE!! Saved a half of chicken/bacon/avocado sandwich and was eating it today. After a couple of bites I noticed there’s a piece of white hair in the sandwich!!! Obviously threw it in the trash!! I should call the Health Department on this restaurant! Just Unbelievable!!!

  Great for breakfast and lunch! Panera is always a solid choice. Their pastries and sweets are delicious—perfect with a coffee in the morning. It’s also a great, reliable spot for a quick and tasty lunch. Definitely recommend if you want something easy and good!
