Grace was very impolite and unprofessional. I didn’t appreciate her attitude. Additionally, I heard her talking badly about some of the other waitresses. One of them is named Sofia and the others name starts with an L I think. I would hate if a coworker were talking about me the way she was talking about hers. Also overheard her talking about how dirty the kitchen is. Will not be coming back because of this.
Usually everything is very good. This time I tried the deviled egg sandwich which was mostly lettuce and it was not very satisfying. The fish and chips was delicious, the Truffle fries are great..super tasty even if you don't like french fries.
We tried a couple desserts last time and there were three in our party and no one really liked anything we ordered.
The service is always really good and the servers are always attentive and friendly

I recently visited The Lazy Dog and had a really great experience. One of the biggest highlights is that they’re open late, which is perfect if you’re looking for a good meal after most places have already closed.
The staff was genuinely welcoming and attentive. Our server, Sydney, was especially kind and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the visit. The hostess was also friendly, setting a positive tone right from the start.
The ambience is warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy your meal. What really stands out is how dog-friendly they are. They have a great patio area with a fire place where you can cozy up, and where dogs are more than welcome, which is a huge plus for dog owners (as long as your dog is lazy).
As for the food, they had happy hour that started at 9 pm and there were many good food and drink options. Overall, I highly recommend The Lazy Dog if you’re looking for a laid-back spot with good food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere for both people and their dogs.
Despite how busy it can get, especially on weekends, the staff is consistently attentive and upbeat. They handle the "paws and people" dynamic with ease, ensuring that orders are accurate and the pace of the meal feels just right.
Bottom Line: Whether you’re stopping by for a weekend brunch or a mid-week happy hour, Lazy Dog provides a reliable, high-quality experience. It’s one of those rare places where everyone in the group—no matter their dietary preference—can find something they’ll love.

We recently dined at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar after a long day at San Diego Zoo, and while the meal had a lot of potential, the execution fell short of what could have easily been a 5-star experience.
The flavors were definitely there across the board. The Firecracker Shrimp had an amazing flavor profile, but unfortunately the breading was soggy, which took away from what could have been a standout dish. The sea bass also had incredible flavor—the fish itself was soft and well-prepared, and the oil drizzled around the plate added a really nice complexity.
However, the dish was served cold, including the cauliflower mash that came with it—and not just slightly cool, but cold. That really made it hard to fully enjoy what otherwise could have been an excellent entrée. We were super hungry and not ones to complain, so we just ate it, but it definitely impacted the experience.
On a positive note, dessert was a huge portion and really good, and the service was friendly and welcoming. They also went the extra mile for the kids with dog headbands and an activity book with stickers, which was a fun touch and much appreciated.
Overall, great flavors and a lot of promise, but inconsistent execution kept it from being a top-tier dining experience.
