That said, there are a few issues: First, Vons does not appear to enforce a basic no-pets standard. State food-safety rules generally bar pets inside grocery stores (service animals excepted), but dogs are regularly in the aisles here, and it creates avoidable sanitation risks. I’ve encountered large yellow puddles on the floor that looked and smelled like urine. Second, frozen foods can be in questionable condition. On multiple occasions, vegetables have shown signs of freezer burn, and ice cream bars have been partially melted and refrozen into misshapen blocks. I can’t tell whether these issues are a shipping/handling problem or an in-store stocking/storage issue (shipments left to sit out), but either way, the store still sells the products in that condition.
