I am not Mexican nor a taco expert but really enjoyed the tacos here. It is funny how I encounter the place. I was wondering around finding a place to eat and this for some reason catch my eye. Big surprise to see it was showcased on the Tacos Chronicles documentary from Netflix. I tried the Horchata; sweet and refreshing.

Robbie got down with customer service attention to detail and this place got the bangers hit after hit good music! My taco was 1st ever with flour and al pastor but it didn't disappoint! Different experience but I enjoyed it! So for all the restaurants that have al pastor on tour menu but don't have the "trompo" why even say you have al pastor!!

So to start .. and this is just based on me and my partner’s experience… food wasn’t good.. I spent $50 on 4 asada tacos… didn’t realize they had whole beans in them.. also told the hostess (Omar) that my lady wanted a michelada and that I wanted just a beer and instead I got 2 michelada’s and was charged for both , I didn’t complain because this was my birthday.. but that’s my only complaint.. food wasn’t as good as we thought.

While these tacos are definitely good, I honestly felt like something was missing because of all the hype around them. I expected to be totally blown away, but my reaction was more like, “okay, solid.” The tortillas were also just like okay. There was no line when I went, but I think I would’ve been disappointed if I had waited a long time for them, if that makes sense. We tried the adobada, brisket, and carne asada — the adobada was really good.

Tacos El Franc was incredible. I had the carne asada tacos and chicken quesadilla, and one of the folks there was kind enough to give me a generous free sample of their beef tallow fries with cheese and sour cream. Everything was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The quality was just as good as their location in TJ, which says a lot. Honestly, it tasted more authentic and satisfying than Tacos El Gordo down the street. Much respect. I’ll definitely be back. No need to cross the border for incredible tacos anymore.
