The food was fantastic as usual! We decided to pick up your order and save 20 bucks instead of ordering delivery. A meal from here never disappoints.

I am from the south and I wanted to love these biscuits but they are meh. I had the chicken biscuit and the chicken was well fried and had some rosemary flavoring in it. The biscuit itself was dense and not fluffy. My southern grandma came with me and she had the biscuit and gravy. The place loves rosemary because they put it in their gravy too. She also was not impressed with the biscuits.
Service was great and all the food came out super fast. It was overall a good experience but idk if I’d go back.
I have driven by here many times, but usually not in the morning. I had taken students to Balboa Park and when we were done, I said let's grab some breakfast! Luckily there was parking right in front because it could be a challenge.
Friendly greeting and the young woman was excited it was our first time! I ordered a breakfast biscuit but forgot to add bacon, but it was delicious! Those bithkits are sooooooooo good! I love saying, "bithkits"! A couple of my students got the chicken and waffles and just devoured them!
After my meeting at Balboa Park, I brought the director and students here. He had never been and wanted to try it. We both got the chicken fried steak and eggs. Comes with a crispy tater tot waffle and generous gravy! We also got a bithkit with it...came with strawberry preserves and butter....soooooooo good!
This is a great way to start the day! Great outdoor seating that's dog friendly. There's also a cozy dining room inside. Looking forward to coming back and eating my way through the menu!

Charming little breakfast spot! Food was fantastic and they had plenty of choices for drinks. I went with a breakfast sandwich and their orange juice. The biscuit was perfect! The decor throughout the place gives it an old 50's feel with black & white framed pictures on the wall, even their bathroom had old fashioned soap, sink, and towel dispenser.
I feel weird giving this rating, but it just wasn't that great for my taste. The gravy was the high point - I liked the addition of the onions for both texture and flavor - but it was a little bland (there is hot sauce on the table that I probably should have made use of). The biscuits were pretty dry - maybe this is a style that others really like, but it left me wanting. For the amount of biscuit served, I could have used more gravy - the last several bites were just biscuit. And wow, I'll definitely bring my own water bottle next time - a 16oz green tea set me back $4.50. Overall it was ok, but I doubt I'll be back.
