    Mastros has a nice atmosphere. However, our service was less than acceptable. Ten minutes into being seated we were still waiting for menus and water. As a guest first experience at this restaraunt, I was disappointed. My steak was rare verses medium, the shrimp in my appetizer was flavorful but tough. The lobster in my lobster Mac n cheese was also tough. We didn't see it waiter again until the end of dinner service. Our bread, we paid for was removed from the table and tossed.

    VERY DISAPPOINTING. I was very excited to visit Mastro’s Steakhouse - San Diego, as Mastro’s has long been one of my favorite restaurant brands. I frequently dine at their West Coast locations, especially Mastro’s Steakhouse - Beverly Hills and Mastro’s Steakhouse - Newport Beach, where the service consistently reflects the brand’s high standards. Unfortunately, the San Diego location fell far short. The host staff were rude, tap water was poured without offering bottled water (which has always been standard at other locations), and I had to request bread because it was never offered. Although our server had prior fine-dining experience, the level of attentiveness and polish expected from Mastro’s was missing. Most concerning, despite reserving an indoor table, I was seated outside in the cold while indoor tables were available. I also observed African American guests being seated outside under similar conditions, which was troubling. The food and bartenders were solid, but service sets the tone — and this location needs significant improvement to meet the Mastro’s brand standard. I will not be returning.

    Made reservations for Valentine’s Day. It was an awesome experience. Service was excellent. Adam was our guy. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was Incredible. We ordered a wagu Rib eye, but it was sold out so we opted for the bone in Ribeye. I was not disappointed. The steak is huge.and definitely shareable. Lobster mash potatoes were amazing. Desert was excellent. We ordered a butter cake. Awesome! Definitely a dining experience you don’t want to miss.

    Service is absolutely horrendous .... WITH reservations , 40 mins past our time , food toooook sooooo long appetizers came out before the bread , food was descent , servers came around like every 20 mins , dessert took forever , I had to flag down the server in advance for the check but what would you know that was fastest the service went when it came to getting the bill paid A joke , I love mastros in OC .... 💯

    I made a reservation a week in advance for a birthday dinner and was really disappointed with how disorganized the entire experience was. When we arrived, we were seated in a corner downstairs with no view, which was surprising given the reservation. When I questioned it, we were told to wait 30 minutes at the bar to be moved. We did, and eventually were seated upstairs… slightly better, but still a view of the parking lot, which wasn’t exactly what we expected. Service issues continued throughout the night. I ordered bread twice, yet our appetizers arrived before the bread, and then our entrees came out before we were even given plates. At one point, I wasn’t even finished with my oysters and the server tried to clear them, which felt rushed and inattentive. We then waited about 30 minutes for dessert, but somehow the check arrived almost immediately. The pacing and attention to detail were completely off. Overall, the service was absolutely lacking and unacceptable, especially for a birthday dinner. The experience felt chaotic, rushed, and poorly managed, and it completely took away from what should have been a special night.
