Although the line was long, it was for good reason. Cava Mission Valley and Des and his crew did an excellent job of providing excellent service without risking the highest of quality. He even heard me express how the recently arrived chicken from the kitchen looked fire, he pulled back my bowl and asked me if I wanted some in my bowl. Top notch client service. Congrats to this Cava location.

Food was delicious .it being my 1st time i kinda felt rushed but i get it the line was long and they were trying to gef people in and out overall tho the quality of the food was good ill definitely be back to try it again.

So this review is an observation of how management treats and talks to their staff. Now I'm guessing this lady was the manger I think I saw Lisa on her name badge but I could be wrong. She was the only older white lady with a yellow headband working. Anyway on 12/31/25 around 6:15pm. I came in to get some dinner and saw everyone was working hard including "Lisa" but the way she was speaking to her team was extremely rude and uncalled for. The first employee I heard her speaking to was cooking and cutting up food she told him he needed to be doing some other tasks and he responded that he could do it after he was done working on his current tasks which he listed off to her. She then tried to reprimand him in front of the line of people. Then while another employee was making my bowl I asked for extra rice. "Lisa" walks up and sees my bowl and begins to make a to-go order bowl. She then says "this is what a scoop of rice looks like" to the employee making my bowl. I then spoke up and said I asked her for extra. She the says "I know" dismissively to me as she walked away. My hopes is that someone can send her to some kind of training on how to be proper leadership and learn how to effectively communicate with her team. At the end of the day we are all human and have our days but as management you are held to a different level. Respect is not given just because of your title its earned.

Overall food is good. However, service is ALWAYS poor. Why do the workers always seem miserable and angry? They always seem like they’re in a rush and you’re inconveniencing them. Past THREE visits I’ve encountered one employee, George, who always has the worst attitude. I love Cava, but my experience every time discourages me from going to this specific location.

The quality of their beef/steak has gone down. It’s really chewy over cooked and some were so medium that it was like gum. I hate the price for one bowl and when you add and pay for double steak you are better off buy a pound of ground beef was 24$. If I could return this and get my money back I would or just stick with chicken.
