I had a wonderful experience at this CAVA location and wanted to highlight the exceptional service from the manager, Alec. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. It’s rare to meet someone who cares this much about the customer experience. Alec went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my order and it truly made my day. I’ll definitely be coming back because of the outstanding service he provided. Thank you again, Alec!

The food is decently good. Sometimes the proteins can be a bit dry.
My issue is with the customer service. Many of the employees are on the younger side and it’s obvious that customer service and good attitudes aren’t their strong suits. One employee was snarky when I asked for baba ganoush as a topping and she was like “Uh, you mean egg plant?” Totally snarky. I told her baba ganoush is made from egg plant.
Anyway, typical young person in customer service attitude. Enjoy.

I frequent this location a lot and they never disappoint with the freshness and quality of food. I’m writing this review because when I was in this most recent time there was a very difficult and rude customer in line in front of me. The customer was being extremely rude and demanded everything to be “fresh” otherwise she was gonna sue them… needless to say the Cava team treated this difficult customer with an immense amount of patience. Great customer service all around.

Never in my entire life have I experienced worse customer service than I have at the downtown SD Cava location. It's actually shocking how rude the employees are at the front to customers, to their faces!!
Snickering, talking behind customers backs, not having any knowledge of basic menu items, and genuinely not giving a flying hoot what anyone thinks or feels. No smiles, no greetings, nothing but cold and off putting verbal/non verbal body language.
I have personally experienced this EVERY SINGLE TIME I've ordered food here, a long with others in the comments. I saw a man commented about an employee being rude to his wife, and daughter!? How on earth is this acceptable!
It is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful that management seems to ignore the comments about this behavior, and yet continues to employee these selfish individuals with no respect or common decency. To say they are rude is actually an understatement, I'm being kind.
It is SUCH a shame considering how delicious the food is here. The bowls are amazing and the quality to price ratio is there. I am a huge Cava fan, but yesterday I literally chose to go to Mendocino and pay almost double the price for a salad because I didn't want to deal with the employees at the location. Read that again.
Management/Cava.... DO BETTER. Hire people who actually care about your company image. Otherwise you'll continue to lose valuable customers, regardless of how good your food is.
I'm also adding this for transparency: I see 5 star reviews coming in directly after people make a comment about rude employees, so I assume these are friends/fellow employees etc. and not true honest reviews. So don't trust the random 5 stars if they come in hot after a one star. The employees must pick and choose who they like. If they don't like you, they treat you that way.

Rice was undercooked and hurt my teeth. I thought it would be just for a couple of bites, but it was the entire time I ate the bowl. The meat was very good though. And the sauces were amazing.
We ate it in our hotel room otherwise I would’ve walked back and showed them right away.
I am willing to give it another try if they comp me a bowl. And then I would be willing to update this review as well.
