Food is top notch and amazing. The food is always a guarantee that it will be freshly made and taste AMAZING. This is the only Mexican restaurant I come to when I’m in the area.
Service can improve. I noticed diners who sat after us and were serviced prior. Also, when there are bigger groups seating, I’ve noticed smaller groups of diners get neglected. There definitely needs more support or main servers in the outdoor patio. All the workers here are hustling and busting their back to give great service, but they are stretched thin. Give them more support or find some way to support service in patio area.

I invited there my friends out of state, to introduce them to real mexican food, ehat else you should try in San Diego, right? We loved our food, the service was great, very warm and welcoming vibe. We had beef and chicken enchiladas, chicken and avocado tacos and margaritas (classic, peach and mango).

Amazing ambience, enchilada suizas wonderful, quesadilla kids menu great, chimichanga was a bit full only shredded beef could use other ingredients to balance. Daughters avocado enchilada was delicious. 2 large strawberry margaritas $40 delicious but did not notice any tequila. 32 ounces normally feel a buzz. Did not.

We were really disappointed with our experience at Casa Guadalajara in Old Town.
First, the wait for a table was far longer than what we were told. We expected a bit of a delay given the location, but it dragged on with little communication or apology from the staff.
Once we were finally seated, it took about an hour for our food to arrive. By then, we were frustrated and hungry, and the food just wasn’t worth the wait. The dishes were mediocre at best – nothing special, lacking flavor, and definitely not justifying the time we spent waiting.
Overall, long waits and average food made this a very underwhelming experience. We won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in Old Town.

My parents love this place! Fidel was a lovely waiter and we enjoyed talking to him, sadly my food wasn't so good, the pollo tamales had this sauce on it that I found to be really spicy even the salsa they give you when you sit down was spicy, I can't tolerate anything spicy/hot, then again I have acid reflux/gastrointestinal issue, I had a guava margarita without alcohol and shared that with my mom we enjoyed it, my parents enjoyed the freshly made tortillas and fajitas trio, I got the meatball soup, and woah, the chef put way too much salt in there, I couldn't eat any of it, and I hate wasting food, I'll be back another time since we live in San Diego, hopefully there's some non spicy options or gluten free and vegan/vegetarian,dairy free options available next time.
