The baked pastries at Aladdin Mediterranean Restaurant are absolutely fantastic. The dough was perfectly baked—light, flaky, and golden—and the fillings were rich and full of flavor. You can tell everything is freshly made with high-quality ingredients. These pastries are the perfect start to a meal or even a meal on their own.

Had an amazing meal at Aladdin Mediterranean Restaurant! The table was full of variety, and every dish was packed with bold, authentic Mediterranean flavors. The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned, the rice was fragrant and cooked just right, and the flatbreads were fresh and satisfying. Everything tasted homemade and generously portioned, making it perfect for sharing with family or friends. You can really feel the quality and care in every dish. A great spot for delicious food and a memorable dining experience—

We have been regular customers at Aladdin Mediterranean Restaurant for several years, visiting almost monthly. Unfortunately, our most recent visit on December 26th (5:00–7:00 PM) was very disappointing and felt completely different from the experiences we were used to. From the very beginning, the service felt inappropriate. Upon greeting us, a waiter (Asian looking and bald) attempted to give me a fist bump. As a visibly Muslim woman who covers, this was uncomfortable and not appropriate at all. A restaurant that advertises itself as halal and regularly serves Muslim guests should have basic cultural and Islamic etiquette training for staff. Additionally, when we were seated, we were not informed that the table had a reservation at 7:00 PM. At 6:45 PM, a new waitress approached our table and told us—very abruptly and rudely—that we needed to leave because another reservation was coming in. Her tone was unprofessional and dismissive, especially considering this information should have been communicated clearly when we were seated. On top of the service issues, the food quality has noticeably declined compared to previous visits. The dishes were not up to the standard we had come to expect over the years. Overall, this visit was extremely disappointing—from service to food quality. It’s unfortunate, because this used to be a place we enjoyed and returned to regularly. Sadly, after this experience, we likely won’t be coming back.

decided to give this restaurant another chance after the salmonella outbreak, but unfortunately the experience was still disappointing. I ordered two salads to go and drove about 25 minutes home, only to find that no dressing was included. When I called to request a refund since the order was incomplete and the food would be thrown away, I was told no. I then had to drive back to the restaurant just to receive a refund. There have also been continued issues with order accuracy and quality — special requests not being followed (such as onions included when asked to remove them), inconsistent pita bread quality for takeout orders, and now a 4% additional charge. When a restaurant is trying to rebuild trust, these details matter. Because of the repeated issues, I won’t be returning

We were visiting San Diego and decided to try this Middle Eastern restaurant since it had a lot of good reviews. We visited on a Monday evening around 6:30 pm. There were not a lot of people but the server who greeted us at the door told us there was a party in the back. We ended up sitting upfront. We ordered the tabouli & the kibbeh as appetizers. The tabouli was definitely fresh but lacked lemon juice. We told our server but he didn’t do much about it. We made it work. The fried kibbeh was so delicious. One of the best I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend. For a main meal, we ordered the vegetarian biryani rice and the mixed grill. The rice was so flavorful and delicious. We all loved it. It was cooked to perfection & the portion was definitely generous. The lamb chops were my favorite and had so much flavor. Definitely cooked to perfection. The chicken was OK. I expected more Mediterranean spices, but it was just more like grilled chicken. Not the flavor profile I was expecting. The meats were definitely tender and juicy, and the flavor was good. We ordered a dessert to go and the filling was delicious, but the phyllo pastry had a lot of ghee. Definitely took away from the dessert. We ended up paying about $160 with tip for the three of us. I do have to mention the service was OK. Our server was not around much so we ended up having to ask another server for assistance. Another thing to know is the service was not really with a smile. I’m not sure if I’m ever in the area if I will return. Maybe I’ll take a to go order of the rice and & kibbeh.
