  Akhis is an absolute hidden gem! This restaurant is extremely authentic and family owned/operated. They make the best gyro and chicken shawarma wrap with fries in San Diego by far! The food quality is unreal because of how delicious it is and the service is off the charts. Reef is the main front of the house employee who is literally the nicest guy in the world. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the food they offer plus he’s a huge advocate of supporting the local community. I come here weekly no matter what and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone in San Diego.

  I've had a great deal of shawarma all over San Diego, nothing comes close to this place. My lunch, the shawarma bowl, comes with the perfect crisp and tender chicken in a bowl with a choice of their signature sauces, rice, pita bread, and the tomato and onions. It was incredible, throw in a side of hummus if your feeling it and you've just found the best lunch you can ask for. They pair great food with great, welcoming service behind the counter to make a great location right here in PB. 5 stars.

  Got the shawarma fries and have never looked back. Proportionally you’re getting so much bang for your buck, I still have so much left over despite consuming what felt like an all you could eat buffet. Pro Tip always ask for extra green sauce. One word I would use to describe Akhis, pure class.

  Hands down best shawarma in San Diego. The food is great, you can taste the freshness and it's super flavorful. They cook without seed oils, which is awesome. Everybody working is always super friendly. We come here regularly as an office because it's so good, healthy and fresh. 10 out of 10

  Based on the nearly perfect reviews I had super high expectations but was actually disappointed. We tried: chicken shawarma wrap, beef koobideh bowl, Falafel, chicken shawarma/gyro combo bowl. Everything was mid from the rice to the meat. The sauces help with the flavors for sure, but without them it tastes just ok. And I am saying this as someone who has tried this type of food many many many times! The service was great tho.
