I had a pretty frustrating experience at CAVA. I placed an online order for 4:45 pickup and got there around 5, but my order was already given to someone else by mistake. I get that things happen, but there was no real apology, just that they could remake it. I had clearly put in my order that the sauce should be on the side, but when they remade it, it was already drizzled on the salad. When I mentioned it, Liz told me I need to say that next time because they don’t know, which felt pretty rude and condescending, she made this whole experience so much worse than it should have been. Then while remaking it she said I had to pay an extra $4 for the sauce, which didn’t make sense considering the situation and the 20 minute wait because of their mistake. I paid for it anyway cause i didn’t want the situation to escalate, I did get a little frustrated at that point, and a supervisor stepped in and offered coupons, but I declined because I wasn’t trying to get anything free, I just wanted my order done right. Also the portion was honestly disappointing, barely any greens and a small piece of salmon for the price. It wasn’t just the mistake, it was how it was handled that made the whole experience worse.

The line cook had walked out earlier in the night during the middle of his shift, yet the team kept things running, worked together well, and the atmosphere was still positive despite a busy night. Always great food!!

I usually love cava and there’s sometimes nice to me but today I went my order was supposed to be ready at 11:50 and it has been around 20 minutes. I usually love going here but they just did not put enough effort to and we had to go somewhere. It was very busy. That’s why we ordered here because it was quick, but it was not quick at all. I’m very disappointed in Cava today

I’m extremely frustrated by the unacceptable experience I had today at your restaurant. I placed a mobile order around 2:25 PM and waited nearly 45 minutes for one bowl, while customers ordering in person got their food within minutes. Your staff repeatedly told me “it’ll be right out,” which was clearly untrue, and no one bothered to communicate the actual delay until 40 minutes later when I was finally asked if I wanted to replace the grilled veggies because they “were still cooking.” That should have been addressed immediately, not after wasting almost an hour of my time. The manager was also unnecessarily rude and hostile when we asked about extra pita, speaking to us with attitude instead of basic courtesy. To make matters worse, after all that waiting, my order was wrong: wrong rice, missing ingredients I paid for, burnt and cold chicken, cold stale pita bread, and hard cold pita chips thrown in without explanation. The restaurant wasn’t even busy when we arrived, so there was no excuse for this level of poor service, bad communication, and low-quality food. This was completely unacceptable.

This CAVA location was the worst I’ve ever been to. They waited until we paid to inform us that they were out of the harissa dressing. We had ordered two Harissa and Avocado bowls. We waited 10 minutes for the pita chips, during which time I witnessed them taking another bottle of the harissa dressing out of the fridge. I also noticed the staff informing other customers halfway through their orders that they were out of certain ingredients. How about they tell them upfront when they first order? As I was eating my bowl, I realized they had missed some ingredients, like the tomatoes and onions. It wasn’t even busy when we arrived. What an embarrassment! I’ve been to three other CAVA locations in San Diego that have lines out the door and better service than this pathetic one.
