- LLLillianAug 23, 20255.0I was driving through Salinas and I was a bit peckish. Wanting to grab a quick bite without breaking the bank, I saw this Subway. So off I go. The place was clean, staff provided good customer service, and the sandwich was delicious. It's comforting to know that I can go any Subways and get the same quality sandwich and reasonable prices. And this location did just that. I sat inside to eat, it was clean and comfortable. The AC was cranking. There were a steady stream of customers eating in, the staff kept the dining room clean. The shop is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. They are located on the corner of South Main Street (Route 68) and Nissen Road. The only glitch, in my visit, was that the restroom was out of order but there was a plumber there working on the issue.

I know good help is hard to find, but surely they an do better than that. For a subway, the food is average, 2 or 3 on a scale of 10. I was willing to put up with lame food, but not when its combined with bad service. Only eat here if you are really desperate!

We arrived at 7:40 and she said they were closed, even though the sign outside clearly said they close at 8:00. The young lady was rude and just plain mean. When we told her the sign said they close at 8:00, she said she needed 20 minutes to clean. I have worked in the restaurant business and I have NEVER seen this practice at any other restaurants. She either needs to fix her attitude or get another job that doesn't deal with customer service! Absolutely terrible!!!
