Our family visited on April 2026. Great food, fun atmosphere, great staff, kid friendly, TV's, & incredible view. This is a great place to visit with the whole family. There is a kids menu in which they are served their food on a red crab outlined plate. They have typical kids food choices, mini pizza, Kraft style Mac'n'cheese, fries, etc. It is the funnest thing for them. Kids also get a free ice-cream vanilla scoop with their order. As for the adult menu they have options for fish, shrimp, oysters, salads, fish tacos, & much more. The food took a while to come out, about 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, there was a lady that came to our table to take our picture and offer us a complimentary picture. She also then took other pictures and sold them to us as souvenirs. Overall I recommend if you're looking for a drive to visit or if you're near by to stop by and eat. You won't regret it.

I frankly am VERY SHOCKED that this restaurant gets an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 on Google and the fact that a friend whom I view has great taste recommended this really over-rated place to me. The crabs are OK. What really bothered us is their appetizer - calamari. Slightly more than half of the dish are just fried battered vegetables (not calamaris). The other half that are real calamari are all covered with very thick layer of (fried) flour! We went on a Sunday night which was not busy. I was quite disappointed that the service was lousy. We were served by a pair. An Asian lady and another young man who was being trained by the lady. Well, they never seemed to see us and I had to chased one of them down frequently for simple requests (they did not have proper utencils on the table, water or Coke refill, etc.). We will never visit any Joes Crab Shack again.

Our servers Jeremiah and Domi were AMAZING! It’s rare that we take our family of 5 out to sit down for a meal in a restaurant because we have a 7, 4, and 2 year old. Our server went above and beyond to make our families experience a wonderful one. At the end of our meal we realized something was missing. We had such a good time I was just going to write it off, but Jeremiah made sure we left with the forgotten items in a Togo box. Truly truly appreciate the service. Food was great also! My very picky son who is on the spectrum was able to pick something that felt safe for him, and there were more than 1 thing on the menu he was interested in!

Pros:
No wait - walked right in to our table
Loved the overall experience/atmosphere
Kids got fun interactive shark drinks with keepsake shark toys
Had smoothies that were delicious with keepsake cups that light up
Salmon was absolutely amazing
Kids loved their crab-shaped plates with Kraft Mac n Cheese (so glad they don’t try to fancify it)
Friendly service and welcoming for kids
Fun view out back window to watch boats and sea life while waiting for food
Cons:
Took over an hour to get food
Took a long time to get the bill after we were done eating also
Crab was dry (although all the other food was perfection)
I’ll add that we struggle going out to restaurants with three kids (two are toddlers!) and even with the long wait, everyone had a good time! It was expensive, we but we made our dinner selections regardless of price tag to enjoy the experience. Overall, we would definitely come back if we had ample time with no commitments after.

We recently visited Joe’s Crab Shack in Sacramento this weekend, and it had been a few years since our last visit—so we were excited to be back! From the moment we walked in, the place was buzzing with energy. It truly has that fun, lively atmosphere that makes it perfect for a family outing or a casual night out.
The food did not disappoint. We ordered the salmon, fish and chips, and shared the crab cake dip appetizer, and everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were just as enjoyable—I had a coconut rum pineapple cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly made.
Our server, Eli, was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. What really stood out, though, was the entertainment. There was a guitarist serenading guests, a balloon artist creating fun characters for the kids, and the staff made a big deal out of celebrating birthdays, which added to the overall experience.
Joe’s truly delivers a fun, welcoming, and family-oriented vibe. It’s a full, lively establishment that knows how to create a great time. If you haven’t been in a while or are thinking about going, it’s definitely a must-visit!
