Today, on 11/8/25 at around 8:20pm, the self-checkout clerk Daniel asked if I had a Safeway number. I said yes. He said, “Okay when you get a chance, do the survey on the screen, it’s for my boss.” I said okay. But he clicked the survey answer for me before I even put my number in and he walked away! What the heck?? He and his manager, the Hispanic male with the long hair always in a low ponytail, were pressing people to do surveys, and I heard it on the walkie-talkie. You don’t take customer’s surveys for them, and you don’t force good ratings on yourself. Just let people know that surveys help your store. It was so rude that he did the survey while asking if I had a number. I just put my stuff down to get ready to scan. Obviously the first thing I’m gonna do is look at the screen and put my number in. So you’re lying on surveys for what?? That rubbed me the completely wrong way. I’ll go to the other Safeway on Laguna. I live between both of them. Barely had a chance to put my stuff down before Daniel got all up in my grill. How rude.

The code did not work and app support tried to tell us it's a rebate the store would handle, which is obvs not true and sets the store up for a bad time. I called and spoke with Ryan upon placing my order. He offered to call back with a solution in 15-30 min but I said it's ok to wait till I pick up. I got there around 3 (anticipated p/u 1-2) and Laurie was very kind and helpful and got Marcos to help me. I was a bit worried I'd have to prove i actually used the code (I have screenshot bc we anticipated an issue), however he believed me and didn't make me show him and he offered me a solution that works and is fair. Every staff member I encountered was kind and sweet. They deserve a raise and a paid vacation for sure! Thank you Safeway EGF!
